Cooper Chapple (2026, Geneva, Ill.) is working 86-89 mph on the fastball, with some feel to work to both sides of the zone. He showed a slider in the low-70s with high-tilt shape and depth, also flipped a changeup often in the 73-77 mph range with great fading depth. Chappie shut down the opposition to start the game. He threw 3.0 innings and punched out 7 opposing hitters along the way.
John Zangrilli (2026, Westfield, Ind.) added a triple working pull-side, after getting the hands to one and hammering it deep down the right field line. He came all the way around to third and was able to pick up the extra-base hit.
Caleb Lovaas-Simon (2027, Woodbury, Minn.) added a base knock up the middle, working back through the middle to pick up a single. Simple stroke, he stayed on time for it and was able to impact it well into centerfield.
Greyson Arnold (2026, Huntley, Ill.) added a base knock after staying on one and shooting it backside. He found the barrel and was able to impact one working the other way for a single into right field.
Ethan Acosta (2028, Chicago, Ill.) showed a simple swing in the box and picked up a base knock working back up the middle. Acosta picked up a single working into centerfield, shaded to right center. He added another double later on, lifting one into the gap for an extra-base hit.
Zachary Lemaistre (2027, Yorkville, Ill.) added a base knock working into left field. He got the barrel to one and was able to shoot it hard through the left side. Showed some bat speed and strength off the barrel. He added a triple later on, pumping one deep into left center, hustled all the way around, nearly getting to home safely.
Martin Tallman (2028, South Bend, Ind. ) was able to pick up a single, showing good feel to impact and drive the ball out in front. He got the hands to one and was able to pick up a knock. Showed some feel to impact it with a smooth righty swing.
Nash Wernsing (2028, Effingham, Ill.) added a base knock working pull-side into left field. He turned on one and was able to impact it out in front, collected a base knock with a simple and smooth stroke.
Griffin Wetzel (2028, Lapeer, Mich.) added a backside knock. Worked the count and stayed on time to drive it the other way for a base knock into right field. A simple functional swing did the job for the right-handed hitter.
Cooper Daugherty (2026, Bourbonnais, Ill.) added a pull knock working i through it with some bat speed. He drove one on a line into right field for a single. Showed a fluid operation in the box, with a feel for the barrel showing.
