4-Royal vs 3-Grey Game Highlights

Colton Smith (2029 C, Liberty Twp, OH) continued to show off the advanced toolset on Sunday, picking up another loud barrel back up the middle to lead off the game. Smith has impacted the baseball with authority this weekend and has also provided clear value on the mound.

Easton Benaske (2029 1B, Grand Ledge, MI) smoked a ball to LCF in his first AB of the day, showcasing easy bat speed with present strength in the hands. He did damage early in counts and more often than not punished the first mistake he saw each plate appearance this weekend.

Grady Leach (2029 OF, Ottoville, OH) pieced up a ball into the LCF gap in the bottom of the 1st creating evident backspin on the baseball. The 6-foot-3, 180 pound prospect has consistently found the good part of the barrel and utilizes the lower half effectively with solid weight shift and hip torque displayed.

Michael Cangelosi (2029 SS, Kirtland, OH) picked up an oppo barrel in his first plate appearance and legged out a 2B flashing some inside out to the approach. The 5-foot-9, 160 pound righty finished with three knocks on the day and consistently found ways on base for his squad.

Merrik Cornelius (2029 RHP, Danville, KY) worked a quality AB in the bottom of the 4th and ultimately ended a 14-pitch battle with a line drive single to RF. The righty displayed a sound two-strike approach with evident contact tool on display.

Brooks Miller (2029 OF, Danville, IN) tossed two no-hit innings on the mound for his squad with the FB topping out at 80 mph. The projectable 6-foot, 160 pound RHP pitched to contact effectively and also had swing/miss stuff in the arsenal, picking up three punch outs on the day. 

Ethan Reed (2028 RHP, Sparta, KY) picked up multiple hits on the day and consistently worked all parts of the field for impact. The ’28 prospect showcased good plate discipline over the course of his ABs and covered the zone well.

3-Grey vs 4-Royal Game Highlights

John Blazer (2029 RHP, Strongsville, OH) chucked a strong three innings on the mound, commanding a FB/CB mix effectively and ultimately topping out at 80 mph. The 5-foot-10, 185 pound RHP did a nice job of staying balanced over the rubber and repeated the operation well, picking up 4 Ks throughout the appearance.

Colton Smith (2029 C, Liberty Twp, OH) got on the stat sheet early, smoking a 2B down the LF line with clear backspin created. The 5-foot-11, 165 pound prospect showcased quickness to the hands and stayed inside the baseball for loud line drive contact. The two-way name was also up to 87 mph on the mound flashing tons of run and spin upwards of 2390 rpm.

Max Gallaher (2029 C, Nicholasville, KY) drove a 3B to deep RF in his second plate appearance, showcasing the ability to generate carry the opposite way and impact the baseball with authority to all parts of the field.

Ethan Reed (2028 RHP, Sparta, KY) jumped on a first pitch FB to start the 4th inning and got rewarded with a line drive single back up the middle. The 5-foot-11, 145 pound prospect displayed aggressive tendencies at the dish with developing strength in the frame.

Elijah Miller (2029 1B, Morehead, KY) showed off the pure power in the 6-foot-3, 200 pound frame in the top of the 5th, driving a 3B to deep RCF. The ’29 prospect incorporated the lower half well in the stroke with clear jump off the barrel. 

Joe Stevens (2029 OF, Canton, OH) pieced up an RBI single to CF in the top of the 5th, jumping on a first pitch FB and finding success. The 5-foot-10, 145 pound righty did a nice job of getting the barrel extended with backspin created.

Merrik Cornelius (2029 RHP, Danville, KY) ran it up to 82 mph out of the pen, showcasing intriguing arm speed from a high 3/4 slot. He flashed feel for spin in the arsenal with plenty of projection remaining in the 6-foot, 175 pound frame.

Brooks Miller (2029 OF, Danville, IN) smoked a ground rule double to RF in his final AB of the day, showcasing the ability to impact the baseball the opposite way with evident strength in the hands shown.

 

Batting Practice Highlights

8/1/2025

Merrik Cornelius (2029 RHP, Danville, KY) showcased present bat speed for his age with his best impact coming to the middle of the field. The 6-foot, 175 pound prospect displayed projectable strength with room to add for the future.

Easton Benaske (2029 1B, Grand Ledge, MI) flashed dangerous strength in the 5-foot-10, 190 pound frame with good usage of the lower half in the stroke to generate solid impact in the air during his round. 

Max Gallaher (2029 C, Nicholasville, KY) worked the pull side/middle of the field throughout his round with intent to generate impact out in front. He has plenty of room to fill out the 5-foot-8, 140 pound frame with contact tool already present.

Colton Smith (2029 C, Liberty Twp, OH) created some clear carry during his round with flashes of strength in the hands. He utilized a hanging leg lift trigger into impact with solid weight shift and hip torque displayed.

Joe Stevens (2029 OF, Canton, OH) showcased aggressive tendencies at the plate with intent to pepper the pull side of the field. He did a nice job of keeping the hands inside the baseball and covered the inner half effectively.

John Blazer (2029 RHP, Strongsville, OH) did some damage to the pull side throughout his round, showcasing quickness to the hands with good intent behind the stroke. He has present strength in the 5-foot-10, 185 pound frame with projectable power potential.
