John Blazer (2029 RHP, Strongsville, OH) chucked a strong three innings on the mound, commanding a FB/CB mix effectively and ultimately topping out at 80 mph. The 5-foot-10, 185 pound RHP did a nice job of staying balanced over the rubber and repeated the operation well, picking up 4 Ks throughout the appearance.
Colton Smith (2029 C, Liberty Twp, OH) got on the stat sheet early, smoking a 2B down the LF line with clear backspin created. The 5-foot-11, 165 pound prospect showcased quickness to the hands and stayed inside the baseball for loud line drive contact. The two-way name was also up to 87 mph on the mound flashing tons of run and spin upwards of 2390 rpm.
Max Gallaher (2029 C, Nicholasville, KY) drove a 3B to deep RF in his second plate appearance, showcasing the ability to generate carry the opposite way and impact the baseball with authority to all parts of the field.
Ethan Reed (2028 RHP, Sparta, KY) jumped on a first pitch FB to start the 4th inning and got rewarded with a line drive single back up the middle. The 5-foot-11, 145 pound prospect displayed aggressive tendencies at the dish with developing strength in the frame.
Elijah Miller (2029 1B, Morehead, KY) showed off the pure power in the 6-foot-3, 200 pound frame in the top of the 5th, driving a 3B to deep RCF. The ’29 prospect incorporated the lower half well in the stroke with clear jump off the barrel.
Joe Stevens (2029 OF, Canton, OH) pieced up an RBI single to CF in the top of the 5th, jumping on a first pitch FB and finding success. The 5-foot-10, 145 pound righty did a nice job of getting the barrel extended with backspin created.
Merrik Cornelius (2029 RHP, Danville, KY) ran it up to 82 mph out of the pen, showcasing intriguing arm speed from a high 3/4 slot. He flashed feel for spin in the arsenal with plenty of projection remaining in the 6-foot, 175 pound frame.
Brooks Miller (2029 OF, Danville, IN) smoked a ground rule double to RF in his final AB of the day, showcasing the ability to impact the baseball the opposite way with evident strength in the hands shown.
