Batting Practice Highlights - Showcase
Austin Donohoe (2026, Burlington, Iowa) took a good round of BP swings on the day, swinging it well with some extension working through the swings. He was able to show some strength off of it from both sides of the plate as a switch-hitter, with his best swings working pull-side from both sides.
JP Elbert (2027, Dubuque, Iowa) took one of the best rounds of BP all day, finding ways to produce a good jump off the barrel with a clear pull-side approach on display. He had plenty of bat speed and delivered the barrel on time, getting some jump off of it with a really quality round of swings.
Drew Fillenworth (2026, Blairstown, Iowa) was consistently on the barrel throughout his round of BP swings, working with hard-hit line drives all over the field. His best results came working back up the middle of the field, showing a good feel to deliver the barrel on time and do damage.
Ben Klitgaard (2026, Iowa City, Iowa) had a good round of BP swings, showing off lightning-fast hands with a feel to impact and produce loud swings working to the pull-side part of the field. He showed good bat speed and barrel control, which made for a great round.
Henry Simmons (2026, Marengo, Iowa) had a smooth right-handed stroke with some whip to the hands, showing a pull-side approach during his round of swings. He had strength off the barrel with some feel to be on time and impact it out in front.
Evan Daxenbichler (2027, Bartonville, Ill.) swung it well from the left side with a loose stroke that allowed him to show fluidity through contact. He was able to turn on pitches and impact out front working pull-side – showing a good feel to get extended working through contact.
Caleb Johns (2026, New Berlin, Wisc.) was able to impact with plenty of bat speed and an exceptional feel for the barrel. It was a quick and twitchy left-handed swing that allowed him to stay short to it and deliver the barrel with a ton of strength behind it. Took one of the louder BP rounds on the day.
Beau Morio (2027, Solon, Iowa) showed off a smooth stroke with fast hands and a quick barrel. He turned hard through contact and was able to use the entire field during his round of swings, with his loudest swing working to the pull-side part of the yard. He was on the barrel consistently, producing a loud round of swings.
Nolan Powell (2026, Ankeny, Iowa) delivers the barrel on time and works pull-side with ease. He produced a quality round of BP swings with a really quick but balanced swing, finding ways to impact and lift at times. He stayed shorter to it and was able to do damage.
Gavin Stanislawski (2027, Lombard, Ill.) put together the loudest round of BP swings, staying shorter to it with hard turns and a twitchy stroke. He was able to uncoil through contact and lift to the middle of the field & pull-side with ease. The right-hander was consistently on the barrel and doing damage for the loudest round of BP swings on the day.
Allan White (2026, Lakeside, Iowa) took a good round of BP with strength off the barrel, being able to deliver the bat on time and drive the ball to all fields. He was consistently able to produce well-struck line drives to all parts of the field.
Grady Frese (2026, Norway, Iowa) showed a good feel to impact, launching balls to the middle of the field, staying shorter and direct with good impacts and barrel whip to do some damage. He showed good results after settling into the round quite nicely.
