Game Highlights - Navy v. Orange

Ben Klitgaard (2026, Iowa City, Iowa) took some good swings during BP, and it translated into in-game, where he was able to add a couple of hits to his credit. He worked pull-side on one that he hit hard down the third base line and then worked backside later on, lofting one the other way.

Evan Daxenbichler (2027, Bartonville, Ill.) picked up a base knock in-game, showing off a loose and fluid stroke with the feel to deliver the barrel and drive it. He stayed through one and drove it with some whip to the hands.

Caleb Johns (2026, New Berlin, Wisc.) put together a loud round of BP swings and then came out in-game and was on the barrel from the get-go with a good job showing off the twitch and abt speed to drive one back up the middle. He jumped on the mound and worked 88-89 mph on the fastball, with a really good breaking ball up to 78 mph, spinning it above 2,500 RPMs – for arguably the loudest outing on the mound of the day.

Gavin Stanislawski (2027, Lombard, Ill.) may have closed things out on the mound but was right behind Johns regarding loud outings. He was 87-88 mph on the heater, spinning it above 2,500 RPMs, flipping a mid-70s slider, spinning at 2,300+ RPMs, and dropping in a devilish changeup as well. Really quality outing - missing bats and getting it done. Took the loudest round of BP as well – and jumped in the box to add a couple of hits in-game as well, finding the barrel and doing damage.

Grady Frese (2026, Norway, Iowa) found a barrel in-game as he showed off the barrel accuracy, going down to get one and lining it back up the middle shaded pull-side – with good strength off it. He also worked 84-87 mph on the fastball, with a slider at 73 mph and changeup at 76 mph as part of his quality 3-pitch mix. He sequenced well and missed bats on the mound.

Clark Miehe (2025, Waterloo, Iowa) found a barrel in-game loading up deep for one and shifting into contact with some barrel whip. He was able to throw the barrel head out in front and connect to do damage, working pull-side with some bat speed to impact it. Picked up a barrel with a loud swing early on.

Jacob Wojciechowski (2026, Romeoville, Ill.) worked 82-85 mph on the fastball and was able to command the zone with the heater. He spun a slider at 2,300+ RPMs, running it up to 75 mph with good shape and bite to it, being able to miss some bats. He also flashed a harder changeup up to 80 mph, killing spin well on it to round out the three-pitch mix.

Beau Morio (2027, Solon, Iowa) worked 81-83 T84 mph on the fastball, showing a curveball with good bite to it, showing 11-5 shape to it. He also showed a harder changeup up to 79 mph with good diving action working arm-side. He mixed all three pitches and missed bats for a real quality outing on the mound.

Drew Fillenworth (2026, Blairstown, Iowa) worked 79-83 mph on the fastball and was able to command the zone well, filling it up with strikes during his outing. He also showed a curveball at 72 mph and changeup at 74 mph, mixing the two offspeed pitches well to keep the opposition at bay.
