Opening day at the PG WWBA World Championship was filled with excitement with several premier pitchers rising to the occasion and impressing the big league scouts in attendance.

Day Two at the WWBA World Championship also didn’t disappoint as several players, both offensively and on the mound, made some serious statements.

We give you detailed scouting analysis from Friday’s WWBA action.

CENTRAL FL PG ROYAL 5, DALLAS TIGERS 2

-- 2013 uncommitted prospect, RHP Brett Hanewich, struck out six batters and allowed just a hit and a run in three innings for the PG Royal squad. Hanewich was 85-88 with his fastball, 72-75 curveball, 73 slider and 76 changeup. He also had an athletic and projectable frame with good command.

-- 2012 FIU commit, OF Alexis Rivera, had another impressive day at the plate. He went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs. Rivera is ranked the 37th best prospect in Florida.

NEXT LEVEL BASEBALL 2, ST. LOUIS PIRATES 2

-- 2012 Bradley commit, OF Nolan Sponslor, had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a triple and a run scored.

-- 2012 Southern commit, P Alberto Arce, put together a solid performance in the contest, which ended in a tie. Though Arce isn’t a top prospect, he allowed just a run on two hits in four innings. He was just 76-78 with his fastball, obviously a crafty arm.

MSL ALL-STARS 3, SYRACUSE SPORTS ZONE CHIEFS 0

-- 2012 Texas A&M commit, RHP Andrew Vinson, was solid in the MSL victory. He struck out 10 batters and allowed just two hits in seven innings. Vinson threw 62 percent of his pitches for strikes and was 86-90 fastball, 71-75 curveball, 73-77 slider and 76-79 changeup. He showed a quick arm and did a nice job pitching downhill.

-- 2012 Coastal Carolina commit, RHP Seth Lamando, struck out eight batters and allowed just a run and a hit in five innings. Lamando was 84-88 fastball, 71 curveball, 71-73 slider and 81 changeup. Lamando threw 61 percent of his pitches for strikes.

EAST COBB ASTROS 8, TRIPLE THREAT BEARCATS 0

-- 2015 uncommitted prospect, OF Daz Cameron, had an impressive day at the plate for the EC Astros. Cameron went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

-- 2013 uncommitted prospect, RHP Reed Scott, had a solid day on the mound. The talented righty struck out three and tossed a five-inning no-hitter. He threw 67 percent of his pitches for strikes and though he topped out at 84 mph this past summer, he only topped out at 81 mph in today’s contest.

PHILADELPHIA PG BLACK 7, PALM BEACH SELECT 3

-- 2012 uncommitted prospect, RHP James English, only topped out at 83 mph for the PG Black squad, but had an impressive day on the mound. He struck out four batters and allowed just a run on three hits in five innings.

-- 2012 uncommitted prospect, RHP Tyler Leach, worked for the PB Select club. He had some control issues with six walks in three innings, but was 84-88 with his fastball, 72-76 slider and 76-78 changeup.
