Metro Orlando All-Junior Team

Preseason Metro Orlando All-Junior Team

RHP - AJ Cole, Oviedo HS - AJ is a no-brainer for this list, as he is one of Perfect Game's Top 2010 High School Prospects.  The ultra-projectable Cole stands 6'5 and 180 lbs.  He has a long arm stroke that produces fastballs that regularly register in the 91-95 mph range.  Cole's off-speed pitches are developing quickly, and he currently throws a low-80s slider and an increasingly effective change-up.  Cole's upside is obvious and he will be watched closely by all MLB teams on the showcase circuit this summer, where he will match up against the top competition in his draft class.  AJ is a member of the Orlando Scorpions.

RHP - Brett Winger, Olympia HS- Brett has a typical pitcher's build at 6'3'' and 190 lbs.  He has a short arm swing and currently pitches in the upper 80s.  He throws an effective slider for strikes that is still developing and a splitter/palm ball type changeup that dives down and out of the zone late.  Winger's pitchability has increased over the last year and he is the ultimate competitor.  If Winger continues to improve, there is no reason to think he won't be living in the 90s and be a dominant guy at the next level.  Winger is a member of the Orlando Scorpions.

RHP - Dominic Arscott, St Cloud HS- Arscott is a 6'4 190 lb RHP who attends St. Cloud HS.  Arscott is a relative unknown, but has elite level stuff.  He runs his fastball up to 92 from a three quarters arm slot with above average sink.  He has a loose, short, and easy arm action and a sturdy frame.  Arscott's off-speed stuff needs some refinement, but he does currently have a adequate slider.  With maturity Arscott will continue to improve and is one of the hidden gems of the Metro Orlando area.

LHP - Trevor Berry, Oviedo HS, University of Central Florida - Trevor is long and lanky at 6'2 and 185 lbs.  He is a prototypical "pitchability" lefty who commands the strike zone well with three pitches.  He, like the other three left-handed pitchers on this team, are proven winners.  His release is smooth and relatively easy and he projects to add velocity as his frame fills out.  Currently, Trevor's 2 to 8 curveball is his best off-speed pitch; it offers both quality depth and break.  Berry will team with AJ Cole and All-Metro Senior Team member Malcom Clapsaddle to form one of the top rotations in the country.  Berry is a member of FTB Mizuno.

LHP - Justin Nicolino, University HS- Nicolino is very similar to the above mentioned Trevor Berry, although his body is more slender, at 6'2 and 160 lbs.  Nicolino has a long arm action and currently throws in the low to mid 80s.  Scouts and recruiters however can envision Nicolino making a sizeable velocity jump as his body fills out and matures.  Like Berry, Nicolino is a "pitchability" lefty who is adept at moving his fastball in and out, up and down.  Currently, his change-up is his out pitch, and he has confidence to throw it in any count.  More than anything, Nicolino is a competitor who does not like to lose.  He will be followed over the next year, and where he shakes out - either college recruit or MLB prospect - will be dictated by his velocity.  Nicolino is a member of the Orlando Baseball Academy.

LHP - Jimmy Hodgskin, Bishop Moore HS, Troy University  - Of the three left handed pitchers on this list, Hodgskin is the most physically developed, at 6'2 and 185 lbs.  Hodgskin boasts the best fastball of the bunch, as it usually sits between 84-87 mph and has plus arm side run.  Hodgskin hides the ball well and the ball jumps on hitters as it approaches the hitting zone.  One shortfall of Hodgskin is that he is behind the other two lefties in terms of off-speed pitches. Both his curveball and changeup are inconsistent at best.  Hodgskin has early verballed with Troy University.  He is a member of the Orlando Reds.

INF/OF - Trevor Siemian, Olympia HS- Trevor Siemian is an extremely projectable 6'4'' and 185 lbs.  He has a current big league body and has tools to go along with it as well.  He has a plus arm and is an average runner.  Siemian is very athletic and is a highly sought after High School QB in addition to his baseball prowess.  Siemian's downfall at this time is his bat.  His swing tends to get long and he struggles against upper level pitching.  Scouts and recruiters won't be able to ignore Siemian's upside however, and, with some adjustments offensively, should make a name for himself over the next year.  Trevor is a member of the Orlando Scorpions.

INF - Devon Workman, East Ridge HS, Florida Atlantic University - Workman is another player in Central Florida who just plays the game the right way.  His tools, like Prince's, are average across the board, however he is a winner that any coach would love to have play for him.  Workman has a strong lower half and does a good job generating power in his swing.  Defensively, although he plays SS at the high school level, he profiles best as an offensive 2B as his bat is his best tool.  Workman has made a verbal commitment to Florida Atlantic University and is a member of FTB Mizuno.

INF - Blake Prince, Edgewater HS- Prince is what recruiters often call a "gamer."  He only knows one way to play, and that is all out.  His physical tools are average across the board, however Prince packs a ton of strength into his 5'10'' frame.  He has the ability to drive balls to the gaps on a regular basis and may project to hit for some power down the road.  Blake is a solid defensive player who makes plays.  He profiles a D1 MIF.  Prince is a member of the Orlando Scorpions.

INF - Austin Anderson, Mt. Dora HS- Anderson is a 5'11, 165 lb MIF from Mt Dora HS.  Anderson is a left-handed hitter with an advanced feel for the game.  He has excellent strike zone discipline and a very good understanding of his abilities.  He hits from an open stance and does a good job at using the whole field.  He lacks home run power, but has the ability to drive the ball to the gaps.  He does the little things well and will be a productive hitter at the next level.  Defensively, Anderson has average arm strength and range, but has a knack for making the plays.  He, like Devon Workman below, probably profiles as a 2B at the collegiate level.  Austin is a member of the Orlando Scorpions.

OF - Jose Dore, First Academy HS- Jose Dore is a long, lanky, and projectable 6'1, 175 lb OF.  Dore has a power hitter' approach and creates plus bat speed and excellent loft in his swing.  In order to be successful in game situations, Dore must learn to cut back a little as he tends to swing and miss a little too much.  Defensively, Dore has above average arm strength and gets adequate reads and jumps in the outfield.  The biggest shortfall in Dore's games is his foot speed, where he is a below average runner presently.  Dore profiles as a power hitting RFer at the next level and will be watched closely by D1 schools and pro scouts alike over the next year.  Dore is a member of the Orlando Scorpions.

OF - Dom Attanasio, Olympia HS- Attanasio opened some eyes at the recent PG National Underclass Showcase where he showed surprising tools despite his 5'8'', 160 lb frame.  He is an above average runner (6.8), and possesses above average defensive actions and arm strength (89 mph).  Attanasio hits from a spread stance, and creates surprising power for a player his size.  Attanasio can also get on the mound as well and throw a darting fastball in the 84-86 range with an effective compliment of off-speed pitches.  In short, Attanasio does everything on the baseball field well.  He is a member of the Orlando Scorpions.

OF - Jay Gonzalez, Freedom HS- Jay is an athletic looking 5'10'' and 165 lbs.  He is a good runner (6.8) who has a free and easy running motion.  We wouldn't be surprised to see him continue to lower his 60 time and become a better than average runner.  Defensively, Jay has a typical LFer's arm and does not generate too much carry on his throws.  He grades as a slightly below defender at the next level.  Offensively however, Jay has a short, quick stroke from the left side that produces line drives to all parts of the field.  He does not project to hit for much power, but will hit for a high average as he continues to play the game.  Jay will garner interest from D1 recruiters this summer.  Gonzalez is a member of FTB Mizuno.

C - Michael Boles, Winter Park HS- Michael Boles is a strong and athletic catcher who stands at 6'3 and 210 lbs.  Boles' best tool is his bat.  He hits from a wide base and has strong hands and forearms that allow him to drive the ball to the gaps and out of the park on a consistent basis.  He swing needs some refinement as it tends to get long, but his body and projection alone will draw the eye of recruiters.  Defensively, Boles is an adequate blocker and receiver and makes accurate throws in the 2.0 - 2.05 range.  Off the field, Boles is an excellent student, and may end up playing collegiately at an Ivy League school.  Boles is a member of the Orlando Scorpions.

DH - Tyler Marincov, Timber Creek HS- Tyler Marincov is a 6'2'', 190 lb athlete who attends Timber Creek HS.  Marincov, like Trevor Siemian, is a high school QB.  The tool that draws the most attention on the diamond is Marincov's bat.  He hits with low hands but generates plus bat speed through the zone and has a knack for squaring the ball up.  He uses the whole field better than most and has an advanced plan at the plate.  Defensively, Marincov plays CF for his HS, but may profile best as an excellent defensive first baseman.  He has an adequate arm to stay in the OF however, and future coaches will need to decide where he plays best.  Marincov is a member of the Orlando Scorpions.

UTIL - Mason Williams, West Orange HS- Mason Williams has a long, slender frame at 6'1 and 150 lbs.  He is a quick twitch athlete however who runs in the 6.6-6.7 range, has plus OF arm strength and defensive actions.  He has CF tools for the next level.  Offensively, he hits from an upright and open stance.  He creates surprising pop for his wiry frame and squares everything up.  Mason has the ability to hit a high level.  On the mound, Mason throws from both an over-the-top arm angle where he runs his fastball into the upper 80s as well as a submarine style where he throws in the 82-85 mph range, but is devastating on RHHs.  Williams projects as an offensive CFer at the next level and will be watched very closely by MLB teams over the next year and half.  If he fills out, he has a chance to make a move up many draft boards next June.  Williams is a member of the Midland Braves.

Mixing a slurvy breaker & turning the CHG over well. @PG_Uncommitted #NatElite @Texas_PG pic.twitter.com/oz2XXoKHvt — Perfect Game Scout (@PG_Scouting) June 30, 2026 Aj Bonnette (2028, Keller, Texas) showed out on both sides of the ball at the National Elite Championship, but really stood out on the mound Tuesday. He toed the rubber in round two of the playoffs, proceeding to toss six innings with eight punchouts and zero earned runs allowed. The 6-foot southpaw filled up all four quadrants of the strike zone, attacking hitters early and often with his fastball. The heater lived in the 88-91 mph range with heavy traits, often setting up his slurvy breaking ball. Bonnette showed good feel...

Performance Baseball Rolls On

Kinley Kitchens
Article Image
Championship teams often reveal themselves when the game isn’t going their way. Performance Baseball 2028/Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team did exactly that. Trailing Florida Burn 2028 Scout through four innings, the Brewers refused to panic. Instead, they relied on timely hitting, consistent pitching, and an unselfish approach at the plate, rallying a five-run fifth inning before pulling away for a 9-5 victory to clinch their spot in the semifinals. The comeback was fueled by contributions throughout the lineup. Six different players drove in runs, including two RBIs each from Aiden Capobianco and Cameron Massey, while Matthew Heredia, Parker Weston, Ethan Smith, and Aj Bonnette each added an RBI of their own. On the mound, Derek Wenzel set the tone with 3.2 solid innings before Ethan Smith shut the door in relief, helping preserve the comeback victory. Although the Brewers have had a...

Emily Hicks
Article Image
JK Select Hawaii capped off an impressive tournament run by defeating GBG Vegas 14u Red14-4 in the championship game on Sunday at Goodyear Ballpark, claiming the 14u West World Series title. From the opening pitch, JK Select controlled the pace of the game. The offense jumped out early, scoring 6 runs in the 1st inning after timely hits from MVP Sean Shindo and Kade Manarpaac. The early lead gave the pitching staff confidence as they worked efficiently through the opposing lineup. “I've worked hard to get better at my game for the past few months; it means a lot that I did well and performed in a tournament like this” said Shindo. Starting pitcher Maddox Prones turned in a strong performance, allowing 3 runs while striking out 5 batters over 3 innings. The defense backed the effort with great plays in the middle infield, preventing GBG Vegas from building momentum....

"Wow" Swings Catch Eyes at 16u Elite

Kinley Kitchens
Article Image
On the second day of the 2026 Perfect Game National Elite Championship, one swing turned heads across the ballpark. The next one brought everyone to a stop. With Wow Factor Nation 16U trailing midway through its matchup against Sandlot Scout Team 2028, Micheal O'Connor launched a solo home run to spark the offense. Just one batter later, Aaron Frink stepped into the box and sent another ball over the fence, delivering back-to-back home runs that quickly became one of the most talked about moments of the tournament’s opening days. Parents gathered along the nets, players from previous games stopped to watch, and college scouts turned their attention toward the action as the two towering swings energized the crowd and brought new life to the game. Although Wow Factor Nation ultimately lost 5-3 after a hard-fought performance, the back-to-back home runs served as a reminder of the...

Stacked Baseball was the overwhelming top team throughout the week as the WWBA Champions outscored opponents by an absurd 117-12 during their 11-0 run. “We got some talented kids, but we played against a little bit of Goliath over there,” Stacked Head Coach Mike...

Perfect Game Staff

17u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4  Day 5 | Day 6 Shea Corona (2027, Brooklyn, N.Y.) showcased some loud stuff out of the bullpen for MLB Breakthrough Series 2027. The New York native and primary shortstop topped out at 93 with the fastball, sitting comfortable in the 90-92 range. Corona paired it with a sharp and tight slider at 81-83, staying on the same plane until late. The pitch plays well already and the delivery is very athletic. The uncommitted right-hander went three scoreless and was in the zone plenty, striking out two while not allowing a walk. '27 SS Moises Gudino (FL) continues to stay red hot, working a long AB & cracking an oppo 2B on the 8th pitch. Flames Capture 18U BCS Title

Alyssa Golden
Article Image
Flames Natty used timely hitting and a dominant start from Beau Collier to defeat NLB American 7-3 and capture the 18U BCS National Championship on Monday at Lee Health Sports Complex. Despite being assembled just hours before the tournament began, the Flames quickly developed chemistry throughout the tournament. “This team was put together 12 hours before this tournament, and they went on a crazy run,” head coach Adam Vasquez said. “These kids know each other locally, but they don’t play together. For them to come together last minute like that, it’s crazy. I’m proud of them for that.” The game opened as a pitchers’ duel, with David Acevedo recording the lone hit through the first two innings. NLB American starter Hayden Graham kept the Flames in check early, allowing just one hit while striking out one over 2.0 innings. The right-hander...
