Austin Peay

Head coach Roland Fanning has taken the Austin Peay program to new heights in the three years he’s been at the helm so far. 2026 marks year four under his leadership and they bring back plenty of talent to rattle off their another 40-win season again. The Governors have had a prolific offense since Fanning took over and it’s looking like they’ll replicate that once again this spring. They return four all-conference hitters, senior catcher Trevor Conley, sophomore first baseman Cole Johnson, junior second baseman Kyler Proctor and junior Ray Velazquez, that will provide quite the gauntlet at the top. They’ll have to replace some production from a season ago but as we’ve seen before, the Governors have ample talent to do just that. On the mound, they’ll be able to roll out one of the better staffs in conference as well. Headlining the weekend rotation is Cody Airington who returns to his Friday night role. Kaleb Applebey will make the move from the closer role and projects to start on Saturdays. Chance Cox and Elijah Underhill will battle for weekend innings but will fill multiple roles as well. Kade Shatwell will be the high leverage arm out of the bullpen, and he brings power stuff to the table that should be able to nail games down. It's once again another talented group in Clarksville that will challenge for another conference title in 2026. 

Bellarmine

2025 was a year of firsts for the Bellarmine program, a first-year head coach in Ben Reel that rattled off their most wins since 2019, capping the year with beating a nationally ranked team for the first time in program history as well. They’ll look to build off that momentum in 2026 as they bring back three of their top contributors on the offensive side. Headlining the offense for the Knights heading into the year is all-conference team shortstop Landon Akers, who led the offense a year ago with 80 total hits. Eli Watson and Luke Scales also return, both coming off years that saw them sit inside the top-four on the team in hitting. They also dipped into the portal to get an impactful transfer bat in AJ Swader, a grad transfer from Spring Hill College that hit north of .400 in 2025. On the pitching side, they’ll roll out a pair of juniors to lead the weekend staff in Karl Ralamb, a transfer from St. Louis, and Chase Carver, coming off 14 starts a year ago. They’ll round out the weekend mix with grad senior Lucas Letsinger and senior Presley Monteforte. Evan Hart is set to be relied upon out of the bullpen and is coming off a great fall showing. Reel is used to winning, something he did a lot of in the NAIA ranks and will look to bring those winning ways to the Bellarmine program, starting in 2026. 

Central Arkansas

The 2025 season was one that the Bears just seemed to struggle to get their footing as the season unfolded. They finished up with a 20-35 record and 12-18 in conference, a mark that the staff hopes to turn around in 2026. The offense returns some key contributors from a season ago as three of their top four bats in 2025 return. There’s a familiar face at the top of the lineup as two-year starter and all-conference type bat Zeb Allen is back for his third season and will be slated in the leadoff spot once again. Nathan Negre is coming off a strong freshman campaign a year ago and will look to do even more in the power department this spring. They also return Keon Moseni to the lineup, a consistent bat that’s continued to add power to the profile. Rounding out the heart of their order will be Jagger Schattle, a graduate student who put together a solid campaign a year ago. The Bears dipped into the JUCO ranks to grab their Friday night starter in Denver Hamilton, a transfer from Seminole State College that threw 60 innings a year ago to the tune of a 2.25 ERA. Rounding out the weekend staff will be freshman Caden Meeler, redshirt freshman Caide White and junior JB Williams. Hunter Alexander is set to be their high leverage arm out of the bullpen. 2026 has a chance to see the Bears bounce back with their returning production to the lineup, especially as their pitching staff gets more experience as the season unfolds. 

EKU

There will be a new voice at the helm for the EKU program this upcoming season in head coach Jan Weisberg. Weisberg comes over from DII Valdosta State after winning 30-plus games and put together the magical run we saw a few years ago at Birmingham-Southern. He inherits a team from a year ago that struggled mightily, finishing with only 11 wins, but he’s looking to turn things around and do so quickly in 2026. They’re optimistic about the top of their lineup, led by senior outfield Jay Douglas who will set the table at the top. Redshirt freshman Khaleel Pratt transferred in from Kentucky and has been dynamic since stepping on campus. Junior David Alvarez is another name that is projected to be right in the heart of the order after a big campaign in the JUCO ranks a year ago. They bring back some arms with experience as well to lead the weekend rotation, led by sophomore Carson van Haaren. Senior Hayden Collins is making the jump from the bullpen to the Saturday role, and they’ll round out the weekend staff with redshirt junior Bradley Gagen, another arm that logged over 45 innings in 2025. Weisberg is looking for a big bounce back campaign for the Colonels as they try to get back to their winning ways in 2026. 

FGCU

FGCU once again rolls into the season with expectations of challenging for the ASUN title and they have the talent to do just that. This will be the 24th season under Dave Tollett’s guidance and they’ve been one of the more consistent teams across the years, constatntly pushing for conference titles and regional births. Everything starts with the pitching staff with this 2026 group as they’re led by an All-American from a year ago in Evan Dempsey. Dempsey is one of the top two-way talents in the entire country who’s casually 92-95 with two plus breaking balls. They’ll round it out with Christopher Diaz, a junior right-hander who brings great stuff and command to the mix. Sophomore right-hander Logan Baisley and senior right-hander Logan Eisenbarth will compete for weekend innings as well. Ashton Pocol and Simon Aluko will be their high leverage arms out of the bullpen, both bringing great experience and stuff to the table. Dempsey will be the leader on the offensive side as well, coming off a year that saw him hit over .300. Sophomore catcher Jon Embury also returns after a strong freshman campaign in 2025. Nathan Gagnon, Javier Gorostola, and Jarrett Nelson will be situated right at the top of the order and the staff expects great things out of them. This should be another fun roster in Fort Myers and they’ll look to continue rattling off wins this spring. 

Jacksonville

Head coach Chris Hayes enters into his 10th season at the helm with the first nine years being highlighted by over 250 wins and leading the Dolphins to two Regional appearances. There’s a good bit of experience on the pitching staff in 2026 as they return weekend starter Alex Walsh who will lead the group on Friday nights. Rounding out the weekend staff will be a pair of transfers in Gavin Dicks, a transfer from Polk State, and Brendan Holland, a transfer from UMass-Lowell. Talented freshman JJ Gardner will challenge for weekend innings and has one of the bigger arms on the staff. They have a host of arms out of the bullpen with Grant Brooks and Payton Waters set to be relied upon in high leverage moments. After missing all of 2025, Cade Walter is a name that popped this fall and is set to spearhead the offense at the top. They return shortstop Sammy Mummau, one of the best defenders in the conference. Roger Vergara and Sam Grunberg are a pair of transfers that have made an impact immediately since stepping onto campus and will be at the top of the order to kick things off. Another name to know is Jonah Shields, a returning starter from a year ago that is making the move to the outfield and will look to replicate the numbers he put up a year ago. There’s talent all over this roster and they have a solid chance to challenge for another ASUN title in 2026. 

Lipscomb

The 2025 season ended roughly for the Lipscomb program as they entered the final week at 25-25 and finished up with five straight losses. They played a brutal out of conference schedule with power programs littering the schedule, however, the Bison turned it on in conference play finishing with a 17-13 record in conference play. On the offensive side, they’ll be able to roll out plenty of experience no matter how they decide to formulate the lineup. Three of their top hitters will be junior outfield Jordan Thomas, senior third baseman Damion Kenealy Jr, and redshirt junior Danny Ramirez. All three have plenty of collegiate at-bats under their belt and will be relied upon heavily at the top of the order. Aaron Stelogeannis, another senior, also returns after hitting north of .300 last year. Catcher Alejandro Ludeiro will be relied upon as an impact bat along with handling a staff with maybe more experience than the offensive side. Kaleb Kantola, Adam Jamison, and Jace Trautner are projected to lead the rotation with all-conference arm from last year Cole O’Brien also returning. Jevarra Martin will also push for innings and has been a name that’s impressed the staff since transferring in from Polk State. It’s a veteran roster and they have their eyes set on the fourth conference title under head coach Jeff Forehand. 

North Alabama

Since head coach Jad Prachniak has taken over the UNA program, the win totals have increased in every season since his first year in 2023. They’ll look to continue that trend in 2026 and they have the talent to push towards the top of the league. The Lions have a formidable one-two at the top of their rotation in a pair of returning freshman all-conference arms from a year ago. Tripp Patterson threw 85 innings a year ago and is set to lead the rotation on Friday nights with Luke Davenport transitioning from a bullpen role last season to the Saturday role in 2026. Jake Boynar will get weekend innings to kick off the year and Reese Young, who’s coming back from injury, should push his way into weekend innings when he gets back. They also return some experience from last year’s team in the bullpen as well in Gavin Oswald and John Allen Stogner. Cayden Sheffield, a transfer in from Georgia Tech will be relied upon at the top of the order with Pete Craska and Dylan Coleman providing some thump in the heart of their order. Nash Rippen is a name that is coming off a big fall showing and will be another power bat in the middle of the order. Tait Nunnally is another name to know on this Lions offense and is one of the more versatile defenders on the team. Things have been trending the right way ever since Prachniak took over and this team has a strong chance to continue building on that this spring. 

North Florida

The 2025 season was one highlighted by the Ospreys finishing with their best in-conference record since 2016. They’ll look to build on that success in 2026, the third season under Joe Mercadante. They hit the portal hard on the pitching side of things and will have a trio of transfers leading the weekend staff in Dakota Stone, Clay Hendry, and Joseph Dimino. They also brought in Ed Wagner in from Charlotte, and he’ll push for weekend innings as well. Zane Starling, a returning junior right-hander is set to be the high leverage option out of the bullpen to kick off the year. It’s an older group on the pitching side that has plenty of stuff and strike throwing ability. A pair of returners are set to be at the top of the order in Seth Alford and Carter White, both coming off promising campaigns a year ago. Jackson Toberman, a transfer in from the JUCO level, put together a big season at Gaston last year and will be a middle of the order power bat from the jump. In this age of college baseball, the hits on transfers are a big reason for success and they are betting on some transfers on the offensive side as well in Toberman, third baseman Matthew Farner, and center fielder Gialdri Gomez. It’s an experienced roster throughout for the Ospreys as they enter 2026 and they should have enough talent to challenge at the top of the conference again. 

Queens

Coming off a year that saw Royals win only nine games, head coach Jake Hendrick is looking to turn things around and do so quickly in 2026. It’s been a challenging transition from the DII ranks but the 2026 team is talented with a host of transfers on each side of the ball that should allow them to add onto their win total. Starting on the offensive side of things, Seminole State transfer Kendal McDowell has come on strong and projects at the leadoff spot to kick off the year. Another Seminole State transfer in first baseman Grayson Childers will be another impactful bat in the heart of the order as well as Lassen Community College transfer Mitch Basterrachea, who brings top end tools to the offense, giving him the ability to impact in a lot of different ways. Senior starting shortstop anibal Rivera also returns and is healthy after playing through injury a year ago. Two of their main returners from the 2025 team will lead the pitching staff in Adrian Quezada and Joey Ruller, both are arms that the staff feels confident that they can rely on. Cleveland Community College transfer Jackson Gowan and Evansville transfer Jack Clevidence will round out the weekend staff and challenge each other for Sunday innings. They brought in closer Davin Pollard from Austin Peay and he brings a power mix with one of the best fastballs in the conference. There’s plenty of reasons for optimism around the Queens program and they’ll look to turn things around in 2026 with this talented group. 

Stetson

Stetson has been one of the perineal powers in the ASUN ranks for quite some time and bring back yet another loaded team with their eyes set on another conference title in 2026. They bring back a good bit of production from last year’s team on the offensive side of things. Freshman all-conference team member Foster Apple is set to take on a bigger role in 2026 after a freshman campaign that saw him hit over .300. Juan Delacruz and Landon Russell also return after solid campaigns a year ago, both with over 175 at-bats in 2025. Yohann Desssureault missed almost all of 2025 after an injury but the staff hopes he returns to 2024 form where he hit .239 with eleven homers. Jayden Hylton is another senior with plenty of experience and is hoping to put together a good campaign in 2026. They will have to replace one of the better pitchers in the conference from a season ago in Johnathan Gonzalez but as they always do, there’s talent and guys ready to step up. James Hays was in the rotation a year ago and has some of the better stuff in the conference. Ethan Phillips returns as well after a year that saw him throw 48 innings and register thirteen starts. Jake Gorelick is another returner with plenty of experience under his belt. It's once again one of the top rosters in the ASUN and they have as good of a chance as any to win the conference in 2026. 

West Georgia

West Georgia made the jump in 2025 to Division-1 and with that usually comes a year full of heartache. Not for the Wolves, they rattled off 20 wins, an impressive feat with how transitions to D1 usually go. 20 wins isn’t the goal for the staff, and they’ll look to continue building onto that in 2026. Starting on the mound will be a pair of transfers in the Friday and Saturday roles in Old Dominion transfer Luke Ridley and Santa Fe transfer Macklin Miller. Sophomore right-hander Wilson Donnelly is set to take over a larger role after not seeing time in his freshman year on campus. Zane Wright also transferred in from Polk State and will challenge for weekend innings. GCSU transfer Lex Kenny projects to be the high leverage reliever with Josh Lanum filling multiple roles on the staff as well. Outfielder Brady McDevitt returns after a solid season a year ago and will be relied upon to spearhead the offense once again in 2026. They hit the JUCO ranks to grab a pair of power bats in Fano Cruz and Anthony Cole, both set to be in the heart of the order to kick off the year. Jacob Bowman and Gabe Wuerth are projected to make an excellent pair up the middle and are two of the better defenders on the team. It was a solid first season at the D1 level for the Wolves but they’re aiming for higher and will start that push in just a few weeks.

Another week of conference play down and Johnson County continues there tear through the spring of 2026, they retain the top spot with Gaston nipping their heels at number 2 for the third consecutive week. McLennan jumps up to number 3 with a big series sweep over rival Texas powerhouse, Weatherford. Out west, Cochise just keeps rolling in the desert and California looks to be hotly contested all the way down the final stretch. A couple of debut appearances down the board with Harford, CCF, and Linn Benton all earning their spot on our top 25 for the first time in the first week of April. We are past the midpoint of the college baseball season and the stakes are rising by the week. Conference races are tightening, schedules are getting harder, and the résumés that will matter in the selection room are being written right now — one series at a time. This week's most significant development came in Division II, where North Greenville swept Young Harris in three consecutive one-run games to claim the top spot for the first time this season, knocking Tampa from a perch they've held most of the year. It's a genuine changing of the guard at the top, and it's exactly the kind of shakeup that makes this stretch of the season worth paying close attention to. Iowa Spring League Notes: Week 1

Brooks Mitchell-Birdsell (2027, Atkins, Iowa) was solid on both sides of the ball this weekend. He was able to show a clean move working into it, with the feel to impact it out in front and drive hard through contact. He had good barrel accuracy with feel to drive the ball well, especially working pull-side. He was 4-for-8 on the weekend with a double to his credit, driving in 7 runs as well. Mitchell-Birdsell also put together a good outing on the mound, delivering 2 innings of scoreless work with 3 punchouts. He worked the low 80s with some run, flashing a mid-70s curveball with good 11-5 shape and depth.  Maddux Mueller (2026, Amana, Iowa) LH bat with plenty to like in the batter’s box, and he put together a solid showing this weekend. April 7th Perfect Game/Player of the Week:  Andrew Williamson, OF, UCF  The UCF Knights (20-9) are coming off one of their biggest series victories in years when they went to Morgantown and took down the Mountaineers to take control of the Big 12 regular season standings.  The offense put on quite the performance and Andrew Williamson set the tone by leaving the yard in his first at-bat of the weekend launching a towering home run over the centerfield wall.  The 6-0/195 lefty from St. Petersburg, FL has one of the sweetest strokes in the college game today and when he goes, so do the Knights.  In the 3-game series, the junior collected 6 hits in his 10 at-bats, scoring 6 runs, on 5 walks, a double and he launched 3 home runs all told.  While he had a stretch earlier in the season where he was searching for his stroke a bit, he is getting locked in at the...

With another week in the books, some teams at the top continue to prove they are elite, and others continue to fall by the wayside.  Meanwhile, there were several teams that had been lingering outside the Top 25 that had huge weekends to put themselves in the thick of things as every weekend has significant consequences for good or for bad.  The No. 1 UCLA Bruins (29-2) have now pushed their win streak to an incredible 23-games as they swept USC (27-6) who was previously ranked No. 7 in the poll.  The Bruins are off to a perfect (15-0) start in Big Ten play and are without a doubt the most complete team in the country right now.  The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (26-5) move up to No. 2 this week after they dismantled now No. 12 Auburn (22-9) in the midweek and then swept Cal on the West Coast last weekend.  Texas (26-5) moves down one spot to No. 3 this week after...

Welcome to another Perfect Game Mock Draft. This is not your typical mock draft as it features 15 different GMs drafting the first two rounds of the draft. Each member of the mock draft was assigned two teams and as such will be drafting all of the picks in the first two rounds for each responsible team.
