The PG Northeast Scouting Staff will be out in force this upcoming week to provide extensive coverage of the 2025 Downbeach CVC Event April 24-27th. A now annual event that features some of the best prospects in the region, it also includes a monstrous fundraising campaign where all the proceeds go to cancer research. 2025 GRADS

Chase Kroberger, OF, Moorestown
Commitment: Alabama | PG Rank: 96

Kroberger will be the highest ranked prospect in attendance and for good reason, as the Alabama commit offers an intriguing blend of athleticism, power and speed. He has legit in-game juice that shows up regularly, while showcasing a refined approach that has continued to expand his overall hit tool. The speed plays in centerfield and his strong arm is just another plus tool amongst his warchest overall.

Evan Taylor, OF/RHP, Ocean City
Commitment: Alabama | PG Rank: 168

The no. 1 arm in the state has been just as impressive with a bat in his hands. He’s got a heater up to 93 mph with a couple of devastating off-speed pitches to go with it. At the plate, the Bama commit hit 10 home runs at PG events last summer. Taylor offers a ton of intrigue on both ends, while continually showcasing the athleticism and quick twitch that we have become accustomed to seeing for some time now.

Jackson Smallets, RHP, Gloucester Catholic
Commitment: Coastal Carolina | PG Rank: 242

The Coastal commit has a prototypical 6’5” frame with even more physical projection to be had. He typically works in the low-90s with his fastball that possesses huge arm-side life and sink to it, while pairing it with a refined slider that generates whiffs. He fills up the zone pretty effortlessly and should only continue to uptick as he continues to add additional strength.

Jake Lodgek, RHP, Mainland
Commitment: Miami | PG Rank: 500

The Canes commit has been up to 91 mph with plenty of run and ride to his heater. He shows a devastating two-plane slider with great feel and command as well. The 6-foot-2 Lodgek is currently the no. 11 prospect in the state with lots to like about the arsenal.

Frank Cairone, LHP, Delsea
Commitment: Coastal Carolina | PG Rank: 256

Cairone has been filthy at-times in the early going of the spring and is a big riser after just a couple starts this season. The 6-foot-2 left-hander has steadily worked in the 90-93 mph range from a tough slot. The slider can be dastardly at-times with two-plane action and teeth to it. He has added a tight mid-80s cutter that misses barrels frequently and adds another shape to his already enticing repertoire. He will be a name to continue monitoring throughout the season with more eyes on him as it progresses.

Joey Erace, MIF, St. Augustine Prep
Commitment: Rutgers | PG Rank: 500

Erace is a spark plug middle-infielder that has a little bit of everything in his tool belt. At the plate, he has good plate discipline and feel for the barrel. He is smooth on the dirt with plenty of lateral range and enough arm to stick on the left side moving forward.

Eamon McDermott, RHP, Bishop Eustace Prep
Commitment: Georgetown | PG Rank: 485

McDermott is an athletic right-hander that has made strides with his overall command and pitchability this spring. The arm talent has always been there along with a downright diabolical slider that generates tons of empty swings. Slight mechanical changes to his arm stroke have allowed for him to garner a 21:3 K:BB ratio in ‘25 thus far, while working steadily in the low-90s and touching higher. McDermott could be a fun name to follow if the early success continues.

Chase Brandt, LHP, Bishop Eustace Prep
Commitment: Wagner | PG Rank: 500

Brandt is the epitome of “Funky” lefty, as the Wagner commit comes at hitters with tons of waving pieces at you. A tough lower three-quarters slot only adds to the deception and the present stuff has continued to improve as well. He works in the upper-80s for the most part now with life to the fastball, while using his sweeping breaking ball to create swings-and-misses. He can turn over the changeup well despite using it sparingly but it's certainly not a fun at-bat for hitters at all.

Finn Haines, LHP, Mainland
Commitment: Army | PG Rank: 500

The 6-foot southpaw boasts an upper-80s fastball and a two-plane slider with late actions. He has been successful in starts as well as appearances out of the bullpen for Mainland this season. Haines is the no. 5 left-hander in the state with a very intriguing mix and serious potential on a mound.

Brett Gable, LHP, Cherokee
Commitment: Harvard | PG Rank: 500

The senior left-hander has been up to 87 mph with quality secondary offerings in his bag of tricks. He fills up the strike zone at a high rate and puts together very efficient outings. Gable’s versatile arsenal and ability to command the corners makes him one of the top southpaws in the state.

Chase Camac, OF, Mainland
Commitment: Quinnipiac | PG Rank: 500

Camac has plenty of versatility in his game and currently boasts a .421 average for Mailand this spring. The Quinnipiac commit is a primary outfielder that is more than serviceable on the dirt. He has a strong and accurate arm that pairs perfectly with a well-controlled barrel on the offensive side of the ball. Camac can drive the baseball for power or slap it the other way in two-strike counts, making a tough out for opposing pitchers.

Carter Cumiskey, 1B/LHP, Spotswood
Commitment: Seton Hall | PG Rank: 500

The Pirates commit has been a dominant force on both sides of the ball in the GMC over the past couple of years. He has become a legitimate swing-and-miss threat as his fastball and breaker have a ton of movement to them. Cumiskey has swung a very consistent barrel for the Chargers as well.

Ethan Tolbert, MIF, Moorestown
Commitment: James Madison | PG Rank: 500

The JMU commit is a very smooth defender with plenty of athleticism in the dirt and a high baseball IQ. He impacts the baseball with authority and has really improved as a power threat on the offensive side of the ball. Tolbert has been an essential bat in the Moorestown lineup for the past three seasons.

Jameson Dobis, RHP, St. Augustine Prep
Commitment: Bryant | PG Rank: 500

The 6-foot-3 220-pound righty has gotten off to a hot start for St. Auggie’s this spring. Dobis has struck out 23 batters and posted a 1.54 ERA in 13.2 innings of work. He pairs an upper-80s heater with a depthy slider that consistently misses barrels. The Bryant commit is a real smooth mover down the slope with tons to like about the arsenal.

Chase Roberts, MIF, Shawnee
Commitment: Penn State | PG Rank: 500

Roberts wears a silky smooth glove in the middle-infield with plenty of athleticism and range to both sides. He has been a main contributor in the lineup for Shawnee both as a contact hitter and power threat. The Penn State commit has plenty of tools along with a feel for the game that doesn’t quite show up on the stat sheet.

Henry Radbill, LHP, Cherokee
Commitment: Rutgers | PG Rank: 500

The lefty for Cherokee has put up dominant numbers his entire high school career. After posting a sub-2.00 ERA in each of his last two seasons, Radbill is on pace for that once again in his senior campaign. He has struck out 15 batters over 10 innings of work and allowed just six hits this spring. The Rutgers commit offers plenty of intrigue and upside on the bump, making him a name to keep eyes on over the next few years.

Austin Buchanan, OF, Delsea
Commitment: La Salle | PG Rank: 500

The La Salle commit turned in a dominant year at the plate for Delsea in ‘24, batting .430 with 11 doubles and 33 runs driven in. He swings a fast barrel and generates plenty of strength at the point of contact. Buchanan has impressed on the defensive side of the ball as well, proving himself to be a viable utility piece in the field.

Zachary Salsbery, C/3B, Cherry Hill East
Commitment: Penn State Abington

Salsbery has been off to an incredible start to his senior season, hitting .500 with a pair of doubles and a home run in six games. He led the team in RBI with 18 a year prior and has carried that success into 2025. Salsbery has been a crucial part of his team’s success this year and will continue to make noise with his bat as the spring rolls on.

Grant Fournier, OF, Cherry Hill West
Commitment: Delaware

Fournier has a smooth lefty swing with an advanced ability to control the barrel throughout the strike zone. He creates leverage and backspin at the point of contact with ease. The Delaware commit also wears a smooth glove in the outfield with impressive range to go with it.

Michael Harless, RHP/SS, Absegami
Commitment: Neumann

Harless has been dominating on the mound for Absegami this spring, pitching to a 0.88 ERA with 32 strikeouts and just 4 walks in 24 innings of work. He pounds the strike zone early and often in counts, and can go deep into outings while limiting baserunners. The right-hander has plenty to project on as he continues to add more strength to his frame.

Braden Reiter, CIF, Clearview
Commitment: Thomas Jefferson

Reiter utilizes a short and simple operation in the box, delivering a quick and consistent barrel at the point of contact. He has the ability to drive the baseball from gap to gap for power, which puts pressure on pitchers to work around him. The physically-built corner-infielder has been a reliable bat in Clearview’s lineup and will continue to make his presence felt as the spring moves along.

Bernie Hargadon, OF, Holy Spirit
Commitment: Misericordia

The senior outfielder has been crushing baseballs for Holy Spirit this spring. He is batting .484 with 14 runs and 13 RBI, leading his team to a 9-2 record through 11 games. Hargadon takes a short and simple path to the baseball, generating lift and carry at the point of contact with ease. The Misericordia commit has a very consistent barrel with sneaky power to both gaps.

Josh Manganello, LHP, Williamstown
Commitment: La Salle

The 6-foot-3 200-pound left-hander offers a ton of intrigue from a physicality and velocity standpoint. He sits in the mid- to upper-80s with a solid changeup and pair of breakers to go with it. Manganello has 13 strikeouts in 10 innings of work this season for Williamstown and is expected to eat up some more frames in the second half of the season.

Tyler McLeod, MIF, Southern Regional
Commitment: Felician

McLeod was a huge contributor in Southern’s success last spring as the program finished 13-1 in their conference. The tall and lanky right-hander posted a 1.89 ERA with a 44:15 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 40.2 innings of work in 2024. He fills up the strike zone at a high rate and gets plenty of misses with his two-plane breaking ball. McLeod has been productive on the offensive side of the ball as well, hitting .308 to start his senior campaign.

Tyler Huzzy, C/MIF, Jackson Memorial
Commitment: NJIT

Huzzy is off to a solid start in his senior campaign, hitting .375 with five extra-base hits for the Jaguars. He utilizes a quick line drive stroke with sneaky power to the pull-side. The righty hitter has plenty of evident bat speed along with good feel for controlling the barrel throughout the zone. Huzzy has also been a very reliable backstop for the Jaguars.

Kyle Lamanteer, SS/RHP, Vineland
Commitment: Rider

Lamanteer has been a huge part of the Fighting Clan’s success this spring. He leads the team with a .357 batting average and is second in strikeouts with 19 over just 12.2 innings of work. The two-way senior has a strong arm and consistent barrel that bodes extremely well with his athleticism.

2026 GRADS

Guy Lynam, 3B/RHP, Gloucester Catholic
Commitment: Auburn | PG Rank: 141

Lynam has a huge offensive profile, boasting advanced barrel skills with a legitimate power tool from gap to gap. The Auburn commit is just as smooth in the dirt and has also shown some two-way potential, showing off a heater up to 90 mph on the mound. He is currently the no. 1 player in NJ for the ‘26 class.

Alex Weingartner, RHP/MIF, St. Augustine Prep
Commitment: Penn State | PG Rank: 150

The top-ranked pitcher in the state has punched out 20 batters in 10.1 innings of work this spring for St. Auggie’s. His fastball is up to 94 mph and successfully sets up a depthy 11-5 curveball with legitimate swing-and-miss ability. Weingartner has a powerful arm and a just as potent bat to go with it. He utilizes a loose and leveraged stroke with easy bat speed generated at impact.

Noah Danza, MIF, Gloucester Catholic
Commitment: Virginia | PG Rank: 198

Danza has the right blend of strength and athleticism in his game. The speedy shortstop is a plus runner with a smooth glove in the dirt. He swings a strong barrel at the plate with nice rhythm to the stroke. Danza can use his legs or his home run power to work his way around the basepaths. He has 13 runs in just seven games for the Rams this spring.

Sean Loggie, LHP, Christian Brothers Academy
Commitment: Virginia | PG Rank: 273

At 6-foot-6, the junior southpaw offers a lot to like with plenty of promise on a mound. Loggie is into the low-90s with a tight slider that pairs very well. He is a big-time competitor with a ton of confidence in the no. 1 role for the Colts. The Virginia commit has a 1.27 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 3 starts for CBA this spring.

Mason Myers, OF, Paul VI
Commitment: Coastal Carolina | PG Rank: 339

Effortless is a more than suitable word to describe the gameplay of the speedy outfielder Myers. He has serious power from gap to gap with one of the most consistent barrels in the state. The Coastal commit is a legitimate threat at the plate and can leave the yard in any count.

Braeden Lipoff, C, Gloucester Catholic
Commitment: East Carolina | PG Rank: 349

Lipoff has been on fire for the Rams this spring, hitting .524 with seven RBI in seven games. The junior catcher swings a very consistent barrel with plenty of evident strength in the hands and lower-half. He utilizes a controlled shift into launch while creating effortless leverage and backspin at the point of contact.

Tim Dougherty, LHP, Shawnee
Commitment: West Virginia | PG Rank: 469

The junior southpaw is coming off a season in which he posted a 1.73 ERA with 57 strikeouts in 32.1 innings of work as a sophomore. Dougherty fills up the zone with an upper-80s heater and rarely lets batters off the hook easily. He creates good extension down the slope with clean tunnel action to his 1-7 breaking ball. The WVU commit is the no. 2 left-hander in the state and brings plenty of attention to the Shawnee pitching staff.

Dylan Iwanyk, RHP, Christian Brothers Academy
Commitment: Michigan | PG Rank: 500

The Michigan commit has been up to 90 mph with big running life and a two-plane slider to go with it. At 6-foot-4 225 pounds, Iwanyk offers a ton of upside on a mound with huge arm talent and an impressive ability to command the zone. The junior righty will certainly be a name to keep tabs on over the next few years.

Brady Jackson, IF, St. Augustine Prep
Commitment: Old Dominion | PG Rank: 500

Jackson has been red hot for St. Auggie’s this spring, hitting .414 with 11 runs and 12 RBI less than a month into the season. He utilizes a simple swing with good extension and feel for the barrel. His plus speed and baserunning ability make him even more of a threat in the Hermits’ lineup.

Garrett Shapiro, RHP, Millville
Commitment: Rutgers | PG Rank: 500

The 6-foot-1 right-hander moves free and easy on the bump with good extension generated into release. His heater has been up to 92 mph with plenty of run and ride to it. He pairs it with a plus changeup that has been a dominant swing-and-miss pitch. Shapiro will be an interesting name to keep an eye on over the next few years as he continues to develop physically.

Daniel Passalacqua, RHP, Bishop Eustace Prep
Commitment: Delaware | PG Rank: 500

The 5-foot-10 right-hander generates plenty of carry to his low-90s fastball and fills up all four quadrants of the strike zone with it. He pairs the heater with an upper-70s slider as well as a changeup with big depth to it. The Delaware commit is a huge competitor with a trusted arsenal to show for.

Cole Williams, RHP, Bishop Eustace Prep
Commitment: Army | PG Rank: 500

Williams has been flawless in three shorter appearances for Bishop Eustace this season. His heater sits in the upper-80s with good ride and command. He gets plenty of whiffs from his secondary looks which include a biting slider and fading changeup. The Army commit has plenty to like and project on as an arm.

Nate Bott, RHP/3B, Kingsway Regional
Commitment: Delaware | PG Rank: 500

Bott has been off to a solid start on both sides of the ball for the Dragons. At the plate, the 6-foot righty hitter is hitting .333 with nine runs as his team has captured wins in 7 of their first 9 games. The Delaware commit has made two appearances on the bump, striking out 10 over 9.1 innings of work so far this spring. He boasts an upper-80s fastball with good feel for an 11-5 curveball and fading changeup.


Uncommitted Players To Watch


2025 GRADS


Jack Mustaro, 1B/LHP, Gloucester Catholic

Mustaro has been a productive bat in the Rams’ lineup for the past couple of seasons. He wears a physical 6-foot frame and swings a consistent bat with plenty of juice in it. He has proven to be just as reliable with his glove at first base while also eating up some innings on the bump.

Travis Large, RHP, Ocean City

The uncommitted right-hander struck out 53 batters in 38.2 innings of work for the Red Raiders last year during his junior campaign. He boasts a heater up to 91 mph along with a tight horizontal slider that gets located very well in and around the zone. At 6-foot-3 215 pounds, Large offers plenty of potential with some more velocity to project on moving forward.

Kole Bagnell, MIF, Hammonton

The speedy middle-infielder has been very productive for Hammonton this season, hitting .385 with nine runs and 11 stolen bases in nine games. He takes a mature approach in the box and uses a simple stroke that works all parts of the diamond. Bagnell swings a very consistent barrel and makes for a serious threat on the bases.

Caden Lawless, OF/RHP, Overbrook

Lawless has been solid on both sides of the ball in the first half of his senior campaign. The righty hitter is batting .320 with seven RBI and four extra-base hits through eight games thus far. He has also made four appearances on the bump, posting a 3.62 ERA in that tenure. The Rams’ outfielder is a reliable prospect with a number of tools worth keeping an eye on.

Jake Bartletta, OF, Rancocas Valley

The three-sport athlete Bartletta set the school record for hits in a single season last year as a junior with 48. He has gotten 2025 off to quite the start as well, hitting .353 through 10 games. The senior Bartletta has advanced bat-to-ball skills with solid strength to all parts of the field. He has tons of athleticism and range in the outfield grass as well, making him a very intriguing uncommitted prospect.

Michael Kahn, RHP/OF, Lenape

The uncommitted two-way prospect Kahn has been off to an impressive start in 2025. He is hitting .333 and pitching to a 2.80 ERA thus far for Lenape. The right-hander has struck out 26 baters through 20 innings of work this spring. Kahn has a high baseball IQ and potential on both sides of the ball.

Matt Vanaman, RHP, Cedar Creek

The senior right-hander has yet to give up an earned run through four starts for the Pirates this spring. He has 32 strikeouts to just five walks over 21 innings of work. He has been dominating hitters with his mix, making quick work on the mound while limiting hard contact. Vanaman is a name that has produced a ton during his time at Cedar Creek.


2026 GRADS


Tyler McCollough, SS/RHP, Timber Creek

The 6-foot-5 two-way prospect has been showing out for Timber Creek this spring, most notably with a 17:3 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 12 innings of work. McCollough sits comfortably in the mid-80s and uses a slurvy breaking ball to keep hitters guessing. His long levers and clean extension down the slope allows his heater to play up against hitters. The uncommitted junior is also batting .385 on the year.

Mike Romsteadt, MIF/RHP, Highland

The two-way senior Romsteadt has been on a heater this spring, striking out 21 batters while walking just six over 13.2 innings of work. On the offensive side of the ball, the righty hitter is batting .350 through seven games. He has advanced bat-to-ball skills paired with a budding power tool that works both gaps, which makes him a very intriguing prospect in the 2026 class.

In a season that has already had many exciting matchups across various events, we as a staff would like to highlight or “Shout-Out” notable performers along with an Uncommitted Spotlight and Team Spotlight.  Uncommitted Spotlight: Mason Rosenberg, 1B, 2027, Bishop Eustace Prep  Uncommitted Mason Rosenberg (2027, NJ) has been an absolute force within the Bishop Eustace lineup, as the left-handed hitting slugger is hitting .481 through eleven games including six homers. The strength has vastly improved, allowing for Rosenberg to impact the baseball with authority to all fields. Perfect Game Softball Battle for the Belt April 18-19, 2026 Des Moines, Iowa It was a cold and very windy weekend, but the girls still came out and put in their best efforts. If you wanted the place to see some of the state’s top talent, this was the tournament to be at. The 18u division was quite the slugfest! The Ankeny Centennial 18U -Kennedy team took down a tough Iowa Alliance Select-Benge team in the championship. Both teams had double digit homeruns on the weekend. In the 16u division the Iowa Aries CE Fire Black took control of the game from the start and never let up on the gas, taking down a solid Alliance Select- Harper team. 18U Division Kori Lincicum (2026 Ankeny, IA) of the Centennial Jaguars- Kennedy and Drake Bulldog softball commit was the weekends MVP Pitcher. In Coppy’s Corner, I dive deeper into these Players of the Week, providing analysis from 20+ years working in baseball front offices at the highest level.     Player of the Week: Tague Davis – University of Louisville  Between 2016-2022, the University of Louisville produced 14 players taken in the Top 5 Rounds of the MLB Draft, seven of whom were taken in the 1st Round. The final weeks of the college baseball regular season have a way of separating programs that are genuinely postseason-ready from those that have simply been good enough for long enough. Conference tournaments loom, selection committees are paying close attention, and every game on the schedule carries weight that it simply didn't in February. Another few weeks have wrapped up this high school season as we’re flying through the spring and most southern states are starting playoffs right around the corner. With the end of the regular season, we have another National Top 50 update to bring to you, along with this will be the start of the weekly editions of our National Top 50. We have a change at the top of the rankings as Venice (FL) takes over the top spot after just dominating their competition in the state of Florida this year. Orange Lutheran (CA) drops one spot to No. 2 after dropping a series but still holds firm at No. 2 in the country. Barbe (LA) has continued to dominate and holds onto the No. 3 spot while Tomball (TX) skyrockets in this update to No. 4 in the country, currently holding an incredible 30-0-1 record. April 21st Perfect Game/Player of the Week:  Tague Davis, IF, Louisville  The Louisville Cardinals (22-18) haven’t been able to get themselves in much of a groove this spring, their longest winning streak is 5-games, and they are (4-6) in their last 10-games.  The issue has not been the offense as the Cardinals are averaging over 8-runs per game and Tague Davis is leading the club in virtually every offensive category.  His calling card is his 70-grade power and that was on display last weekend in their series against Cal.  In the three-game series, Davis went 7 for 12, scoring 4 runs, launching 5 home runs and collected 7 RBIs.  The 6-4/220 lefthanded hitter from West Chester, PA has a pure stroke, is one of the premier power hitters in the nation and has significantly improved his plate discipline from a year ago.  After his big weekend, he is...
