National High School Top 50: April 16

With high school baseball in full swing all over the country and some states creeping towards the playoffs in the upcoming weeks, we have another update with some big movers up and down. Corona (CA) and IMG Academy (FL) hold firm at the #1 and #2 spots in this update. Etowah (GA) moves up two places to #3 in the country after some dominant performances throughout the year. Venice (FL) is the biggest winner in this update, jumping 40 spots to the #4 spot in the country after winning NHSI. A familiar face rejoins the T10 as Puyallup (WA) jumps three spots to #10 after a 14-0 start to the season.

Memorial (TX) makes a significant jump and are firmly cemented in the top-15. Live Oak (LA) continues to win and jumps another 10 spots in this update to #16 while The Woodlands (TX) has been on an absolute roll and jumps 12 spots to #17. A few other big movers are Corona Del Sol (AZ) and Bishop Verot (FL), both coming off strong stretches and jumping a significant amount in this update.



We also welcome in 11 new teams to the National High School Top 50 in this update. No. 23 St. John Bosco (CA), No. 25 Crespi (CA), No. 34 Keller (TX), No. 37 Prosper (TX), No. 38 Owasso (OK), No. 39 Charlotte Catholic (NC), No. 40 Malvern Prep (PA), No. 41 St. John’s College (DC), No. 45 Nazareth Academy (IL), No. 46 Aquinas (CA), and No. 50 Trinity (KY) all join the top-50 after rattling off wins in the last few weeks. This update will begin our weekly iterations of updates to finish out the year. There will certainly be more movement and additions in the coming weeks with playoffs quickly approaching so make sure to be on the lookout for our upcoming updates.

Three hitters and three pitchers that really impressed or improved their stock at the Area Code Select at Dodger Stadium.  Gotta start with James Clark as he stole the show offensively, and right out of the gate, with a pull side home run as just the second hitter of the game.  Added a triple to the pull side again, again on the barrel.  Added a single up the middle.  Really showed exceptional feel for the barrel.  Flew out to center field on two occasions, both barreled up pretty well, with one getting lost in the sun.  I’m old and salty, so didn’t give him the double for the cycle, but he was the most impressive bat (easily) on the day.   One of the other position players that impressed, I’ve been somewhat critical of, have spoken with his travel coach a little bit about him behind the plate, but Vista Murrieta catcher Taytum...

The start of another high school season is right around the corner in a handful of states and with that, as always, comes our Preseason High School Top-50. A whopping twenty states are represented in the initial Top-50, a number that is staggering when you look at the amount of depth some of these rosters have across the nation. Leading the group is St. John Bosco (CA), a team that brought home a CIF Southern D1 title in 2025 and bring back a strong group of seniors to look to repeat. Stoneman Douglas (FL) is a name most people should know by now in the high school ranks and comes in as our preseason #2 team, looking to win their sixth straight state championship in Florida. BURLINGTON, IA - Perfect Game Softball Burst The Bubble Tournament, January 24 - 25, 2026. 15 teams in  this four game guarantee, pool into bracket play tournament, with both a 16u and 18u division contested. In the 16u Division, it was the 09 Midwest Sluggers claiming the Championship over finalist Wisconsin Heat.
