PERFECT GAME TO HOST INAUGURAL
PACIFIC BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
Eight-Team 15U Tournament will be played in Hokkaido, Japan
PGTV to Broadcast Semi-Finals and Championship Game
Sanford, Florida (Wednesday, March 26, 2025) - Perfect Game, the world’s largest youth baseball and softball platform and scouting service, today announced the launch of the Perfect Game Pacific Baseball Championship, an international 15U tournament set to take place from August 7-11, 2025, in Hokkaido, Japan. This prestigious event will bring together eight elite teams from across the Pacific region, showcasing the rising stars of baseball on a global stage.
The tournament will feature teams representing the United States, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, China, Taiwan, South Korea and one additional team to be announced at a later date. The Chitose Civic Baseball Stadium will host the pool matchups, while the Sapporo Dome – famed home of the Nippon Ham Fighters and former home ballpark for MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani – will serve as the venue for the semi-finals and championship game. Those games will be the only PG games played in a dome stadium in 2025.
“The Perfect Game Pacific Baseball Championship represents an exciting new chapter for youth baseball, providing young athletes from diverse countries with a platform to compete at the highest level while gaining invaluable international experience,” said Rob Ponger, CEO of Perfect Game. “We look forward to witnessing the talent and passion of these rising stars.”
While the U.S. team roster will be announced this summer, Perfect Game exclusively revealed via their social media network that outfielder Joel Vargas, ranked #10 in Perfect Game’s national rankings, has been selected to the team. Vargas (Class of 2028) is a two-time Perfect Game Select Fest participant, having competed in the prestigious tournaments in each of the last two years.
The semi-finals and championship game will be broadcast on PerfectGame.TV and the free PGTV app, bringing the action to baseball fans worldwide. Additional details, including brackets, game times, full team rosters and coaches, will be announced in the coming months.
