July 24, 2024 (Lenexa, KS) Perfect Game is proud to announce their latest regional partnership with the historic Johnson County 3&2 Baseball Club in greater Kansas City. With 3&2’s well-established, stellar reputation of organization and customer service combined with Perfect Game, a platform known across the country for their best-in-class events, cutting-edge technology, wide social media reach, expansive scouting and detailed player profiles, this partnership will provide the best experience and value for all the teams and players. 

Events

Under this new partnership, all existing 3&2 tournaments will be under the Perfect Game banner which comes with and offer the top-notch technology with the player profiles, official statistics via Diamondkast, live streaming via PGTV and social media highlights.  



The regional partnership will be led by longtime and trusted directors Neil Rutkowski and Charlie Beets. With their attention to detail and customer service and Perfect Game’s reputation as the industry leader across the country, this partnership will greatly benefit the athletes and teams throughout the region, providing the greatest value.

As a result of this partnership, athletes and their parents can expect to see the resurgence in legacy events from PG such as the Hawaiian Hitfest, the Alex Gordon Lemonade Stand, and Monster Bash to go along with the premiere 3&2 events like Evolution Series, DSG Young Sluggers, Big League Chew Summer Slam, Stars & Strikes and others. 

While PG and 3&2 intend to honor legacy regional events, the groups are excited to add a brand-new event series with the All-State Games. These will be individual player events with invites going to top performing players from the tournaments.  Taking place in August in the Kansas City area, the top ranked players will earn the right to represent the region at the National All-State Select Championship to compete against other All-State teams from across the country.

Team Classifications

Under the guidance of the new leadership, the PG and 3&2 team classifications will become the most balanced and fair classifications to allow teams to play competitive games, regardless of their classification and talent-level. With the number of teams playing in 3&2 and PG events, there will be plenty of opportunities at every level to ensure proper competition.

League Play

While the traditional leagues will continue to be fully operated by 3&2, another exciting opportunity of the partnership is that PG will start implementing some of the technology (Diamondkast & streaming highlights) and media (live games on PGTV, big social media content) aspects of the tournament play into the leagues at 3&2.  This will provide similar experiences for the league players that the tournament players receive.

Scouting & Social Media

One of the biggest features of Perfect Game provides across the country is the scouting and social media presence at the events.  For all events, we will have social media coverage on our platforms to share the experience of the teams and players with their friends and family.  For the older teams and players, we will have our PG scouting department present to provide additional exposure to the college coaches and MLB scouts.  This will include highlight clips and scouting notes from events. 

Technology

Through the partnership, all games and events will get the added benefit of being scored by Perfect Game’s proprietary scoring software, DiamondKast, which provides players stats from all games that are displayed on their individual player profile page for easy access for parents, coaches, recruiters and scouts. Perfect Game is the only company in the industry that creates and maintains a player’s personal profile page from their first youth games until their final games in high school. Over time, these pages begin to look like the back of a baseball card the more events and games they play in.

The newest addition is DK+, the streaming and highlight component to DK, which automatically adds these highlights to the player’s profile and allow parents to post on their personal social media channels and share with friends and family.

Umpires

All events under the direction of 3&2 and PG will be able to attract not just the top umpires from across the region but also outside umpires, who will want to come into the region due to the consistent flow of games. Together, we will build the top umpire conglomerate in the region by recruiting, training, and providing opportunities for the next generation of umpires to learn from the best regional umpires. 

Activations

One of the biggest additions to this partnership will be the on-site and community activations. We already have some things in the works that will be announced soon which we believe will enhance the experience and make the games and events fun for the entire family. Perfect Game and 3&2 also strongly believe in giving back to the community and will work together to provide opportunities for the players in the parks and communities where our games are played.

Facilities

With this partnership, we really look forward to playing in best-in-class facilities.  This includes the current facilities that PG is operating in, as well as the owned-and-operated 3&2 facilities that teams have enjoyed for many years. There are plans in place to upgrade these facilities to improve the experience for our teams and players.

Schedule

The staff is working on creating an updated schedule for the Fall 2024 events that will encompass both Perfect Game and 3&2.  It will be updated on the website here.

Austin Way (2030, Yulee, FL) was 2-3 in game four, driving in a run and scoring once himself. Picked it well defensively at shortstop but really showed out in the box today. Works the barrel path to the middle of the field and whips the barrel through the zone. The RHH creates lift in the turn, and the ball jumps off the bat hot.  Sutton Walling (2029, Ponte Vedra, FL) is an athletic 5’11/160lb infielder who gets it done on both sides of the ball. Dominated at the plate right behind his teammate Way in the batting order going 3-3 with two doubles. He does a really good job with the barrel accuracy and works through contact with heavy hands. Lots of project-ability in the profile and is having a sneaky great week at the plate. Storylines Heavy College Run Early We came into the day knowing that there were a lot of talented college players at the top of the board, more specifically college bats. That came to light very early in the day, as we saw just two prep players selected within the first ten picks. The college preference lasted throughout most of the entire first round. Nearly 75% of the first 40 selections were college players. Chicago White Sox | Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA It’s between Roch and Grady Emerson at this pick, though there have been heavy rumors of a very late deal potentially with another top 5 pick. This boils down to negotiations and we think that they will get there.  2. Tampa Bay Rays | Grady Emerson, SS, Fort Worth Christian (Tex.) Cape Cod League Scouting Notebook  Maverick Rizy | Ole Miss | RHP | Brewster Whitecaps  The towering 6-foot-9, 250-pound right-hander continues to stand out with one of the more unique looks on the Cape, pairing a massive frame with a low three-quarter slot that creates difficult angles for hitters. While his fastball velocity was down from its typical mid-90s range during this look, working mostly 90-92 mph, it still generated plenty of swing-and-miss. He paired the heater with an 81-83 mph gyro slider featuring tight bullet-spin action and mixed in an 85-mph changeup with quality separation.
