Team Sheet: Kansas State

What Happened: Kansas State had a rough weekend in Round Rock, going 0-3 while facing off against challenging cast of opponents.

Carrying Tool: Solid weekend rotation. With experienced pitchability southpaw Owen Boerema and Jackson Wentworth and German Fajardo, both who have good stuff, the Wildcats have the makings of a very solid weekend staff.

Concerns: Lack of impact bats. After Kaelen Culpepper went down with an injury in game one, there was not much going on in the lineup with the exception of Nick Goodwin and Brendan Jones. The power upside is lacking, and they will need to pitch and defend better to win games.

Best Player on the Field: Nick Goodwin. The shortstop has in game juice that plays and he should be a sure bet to hit double digit home runs. He is the team’s leader and is a reliable source for extra-base hits, having hit 21 home runs in his first two seasons at Kansas State.
