1. Ryan Bruno, LHP, Palm Beach Xtreme (Stanford/2023 Eligible)

Bruno comes in as the SFCBL’s No. 1 prospect after making strides in his development as a pitcher over the last two years. Bruno played for the Xtreme in the 2020 SFCBL season and was named an SFCBL All-Star. This year at Stanford, Bruno struck out 71 batters in 39 2/3 innings with a 2.72 ERA. Bruno’s time in the SFCBL this season was shorted after he was selected to the 26-man USA Baseball Collegiate National Team that competed in the Netherlands. Stuff wise Bruno’s fastball sits 94-97 and in shorter stints he will sit 96-97. He competes in the zone with all three of his pitches and has an above average change up and an above average breaking ball.

2. Hunter Furtado, LHP, Delray Beach Lightning (Alabama/2023 Eligible)

Staying in the same spot as 2021, Furtado was ranked our No. 2 prospect in the 2021 season and the No. 3 prospect in the 2020 season. Furtado made all 17 appearances out of the bullpen in 2022 at Alabama striking out 33 batters in 32 innings pitched. This summer for the Lightning he was a starter and worked on developing his off-speed in which he saw improvements. In short stints Furtado was 94-96 touching 97. His slider is his out pitch in which he developed throughout the summer. The slider sat 82-85 and had sharp bite inducing swing/miss. Furtado also cleaned up his arm action and delivery this past season going from an over-the-top slot to more of a high three-quarter slot. The athletic potential is sky high with him as he has the perfect pitchers frame with room to fill out.

3. Hunter Fitz-Gerald, 1B, Palm Beach Xtreme (Old Dominion/2023 Eligible)

Fitz-Gerald was a prospect this spring on the junior college circuit and will attend Old Dominion University for his junior year. Hunter has a big, strong athletic frame with plenty of power. This spring he hit .359 with 10 HR’s, 15 doubles, 3 triples and 48 RBI. This summer he hit .329 with 8 doubles and 1 home run while also cutting his strikeouts down. Hunter also saw time in right field showing his athleticism and ability to play other positions that 1B. He certainly profiles out as a professional 1B but could also potentially play corner OF. Hunter showed power to all parts of the field this summer with wood and we expect him to hear his name called in the 2023 MLB Draft.

4. Austin Fawley, C, Boynton Beach Buccaneers (Kentucky/2025 Eligible)

After a slow start offensively, Fawley made quick adjustments and was named SFCBL Rookie of the Year after hitting .288 with 3 doubles, 1 triple and 3 home runs. Fawley, a primary catcher, showed athleticism playing multiple positions including 3B, left field and 1B. Behind the dish he has a quick release and blocks the ball well. Offensively, Fawley is advanced for his age and was able to adjust at the plate in his first collegiate season. He showed power and consistently made solid contact in the last half of the season. We believe that Fawley will be an impact freshman at Kentucky and will continue to develop into a professional player in the best college conference in the country.

5. Tyler Cox, UTL, West Palm Beach Knights (Eckerd/2023 Eligible)

This year was a breakout season for Cox after transferring to Eckerd from Marshall University in West Virginia. This spring, Cox started in all 48 games leading Eckerd offensively hitting .329 with 11 doubles and 2 home runs. This summer, Cox was named the SFCBL Offensive Player of the Year hitting .393 with 5 doubles, 2 triples and 20 RBI. Cox also walked more than he struck out. Tyler is a strong athletic player who played multiple positions on the field. At the professional level we see Cox profiling out at 3B as he has enough arm strength, athleticism and range to play the position.

6. Dylan Goldstein, OF, West Boca Snappers (Florida Atlantic/2023 Eligible)

Goldstein is coming off a monster year at the plate at FAU as he hit 18 home runs, 9 doubles, 1 triple and had 63 RBI this spring at FAU. Dylan played in his 3rd SFCBL season and has made improvements every year. Goldstein has a strong frame and a slight uppercut swing from the left side. At the professional level, Goldstein will likely play left field. We expect Dylan to be selected in the 2023 MLB Draft after another stellar offensive season.

7. Jackson Tucker, OF, Delray Beach Lightning (St. John's/2024 Eligible)

Tucker had a big freshman year in the Big East Conference as he started 50 games in center field for the Johnnies, hitting .283 with 2 home runs, 2 triples and 5 doubles. This summer for the Lightning the numbers were similar hitting .304 with 8 doubles and 1 home run. Tucker is a plus runner and takes good routes to the ball. He is an athletic, intense player and played hard throughout the entire season. At the plate he currently has gap to gap power with pop and will add power as he matures. Tucker was named to the SFCBL All-Star Game and was also named to the All-SFCBL Team at the end of the season.

8. Adrian Vega, RHP, Boca Raton Blazers (Indiana/2024 Eligible)

Vega is coming off a strong freshman performance at Butler University where he struck out 45 batters in 43 2/3 innings and only walking 11. The Miami native transferred mid summer to Indiana where he will look to enter their starting rotation. Vega has a feel for the zone and attacks the zone with all three of his pitches. His fastball sits in the 89-92 MPH range with more to come. He has a clean delivery and a loose arm action. The breaking ball is swing/miss and is in the 79-82 MPH range. His changeup is a solid pitch and has fade. Vega is an overall solid arm and we expect to see him improve as a starter in the Big 10.

9. Timmy Manning, LHP, Boca Raton Blazers (Arizona State/2023 Eligible)

Manning is a familiar face in the SFCBL as he spent the 2020 summer season with the Pompano Beach Clippers. This summer, he suited up for the Boca Raton Blazers and did not disappoint scouts. Manning has spent the last two season at the University of Florida and committed to Arizona State mid summer after entering the portal right after the Gators season came to an end. Manning has had plenty of success in the SEC striking out 26 batters in 22 2/3 innings this spring in 7 starts and 3 relief appearances. Manning is a starter type arm and his velocity increased this summer deeper into games. His fastball sits in the 88-92 MPH range and topped at 93. His out pitch is his curveball which has sharp bite and depth. Manning will look to increase his draft stock in the PAC-12 this spring and is certainly a prospect to follow.

10. Gavin Adams, RHP, Boca Raton Blazers (Indian River State/Florida State/2023 Eligible)

Adams arguably had one of the best arms in the 2022 SFCBL season and has been clocked up to 99 MPH. The Boca Raton native spent the spring season at the State College of Florida where he struck out 52 batters in 44 2/3 innings. Adams made a big velo jump this summer as he sat 91-95 in his outings and routinely topped at 96-97. His slider also improved and showed to be a wipeout, plus pitch at times. He has a wiry, athletic frame with plenty of room to fill out and projection in the arm. Adams recently committed to Florida State. The key for Adams will be proving to scouts he can be a starter and maintaining consistency in his outings while cutting his walks down.

Vincent Cervino

With a postseason run for the ages, the Oklahoma Sooners (43-23) took home the National Championship and naturally finish the 2026 season as our No. 1 team in the land.  It is the third national title for the Sooners, playing in their 12th CWS and making their fourth championship series appearance.  They add to previous national titles won in 1951 and 1994 and did it by taking the most difficult path of any team in this year’s tournament.  In the NCAA Tournament, Oklahoma took down national seeds, No. 2 Georgia Tech twice, No. 3 Georgia twice, No. 5 UNC twice, No. 7 Alabama and No. 15 Kansas twice.  This was the second time that head coach Skip Johnson has led the Sooners to the CWS Championship Series since 2022 and the first time he has taken home the crown.  The North Carolina Tarheels (54-14) was one win away from their first national title and finish...

Performance Baseball Rolls On

Kinley Kitchens
Article Image
Championship teams often reveal themselves when the game isn’t going their way. Performance Baseball 2028/Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team did exactly that. Trailing Florida Burn 2028 Scout through four innings, the Brewers refused to panic. Instead, they relied on timely hitting, consistent pitching, and an unselfish approach at the plate, rallying a five-run fifth inning before pulling away for a 9-5 victory to clinch their spot in the semifinals. The comeback was fueled by contributions throughout the lineup. Six different players drove in runs, including two RBIs each from Aiden Capobianco and Cameron Massey, while Matthew Heredia, Parker Weston, Ethan Smith, and Aj Bonnette each added an RBI of their own. On the mound, Derek Wenzel set the tone with 3.2 solid innings before Ethan Smith shut the door in relief, helping preserve the comeback victory. Although the Brewers have had a...

Starting pitcher Maddox Prones turned in a strong performance, allowing 3 runs while striking out 5 batters over 3 innings. Kinley Kitchens
Article Image
On the second day of the 2026 Perfect Game National Elite Championship, one swing turned heads across the ballpark. The next one brought everyone to a stop. With Wow Factor Nation 16U trailing midway through its matchup against Sandlot Scout Team 2028, Micheal O'Connor launched a solo home run to spark the offense. Just one batter later, Aaron Frink stepped into the box and sent another ball over the fence, delivering back-to-back home runs that quickly became one of the most talked about moments of the tournament’s opening days. Parents gathered along the nets, players from previous games stopped to watch, and college scouts turned their attention toward the action as the two towering swings energized the crowd and brought new life to the game. Although Wow Factor Nation ultimately lost 5-3 after a hard-fought performance, the back-to-back home runs served as a reminder of the...

Flames Natty used timely hitting and a dominant start from Beau Collier to defeat NLB American 7-3 and capture the 18U BCS National Championship on Monday at Lee Health Sports Complex. Despite being assembled just hours before the tournament began, the Flames quickly developed chemistry throughout the tournament. “This team was put together 12 hours before this tournament, and they went on a crazy run,” head coach Adam Vasquez said. “These kids know each other locally, but they don’t play together. For them to come together last minute like that, it’s crazy. I’m proud of them for that.” The game opened as a pitchers’ duel, with David Acevedo recording the lone hit through the first two innings. NLB American starter Hayden Graham kept the Flames in check early, allowing just one hit while striking out one over 2.0 innings. The right-hander...
