William Schmidt (2024, Baton Rouge, La.) was really good in his second outing of the week as the Mississippi State commit got the ball in Saturday's second round play off game. He had made short one-inning outing early in the week in preparation for his 5 1/3 innings in the bracket play. Schmidt struck out seven over those five-plus innings with a fun-to-watch two-pitch mix.
