Luke Hill, SS, Class of 2022
College Commitment: Arizona State

Hill, a onetime Tulane commit, brings a full tool box on both sides of the ball with a strong, athletic build that should allow him to be a useful Swiss army knife for Coach Bloomquist and his staff moving forward. The raw strength and speed come through as the two loudest tools and pair well with his actions defensively on the field at his primary position of shortstop. With 6.67 speed, he has the type of foot speed it takes to range in either direction at short but could also project to the outfield, if necessary, at the next level with plenty of arm strength, having been up to 91 on the mound and in the 90s from both the outfield and infield during drills. The present strength in the frame shows up big time in the box with raw power at the plate that shows signs of a run-producing type of bat at the college level. He is coming off his strongest year at the plate at Perfect Game events, hitting just a click under .400 in 26 games with an OPS of 1.136 and 11 runs driven in. This later commitment in the 2022 recruiting cycle comes as a welcome sight for the Sun Devils, as he is the third-highest ranked player in the class coming in at No. 375 in the class. As the second middle infielder in the class, the potential for Hill and Nu’U Contrades to be a pair up the middle should have ASU fans excited for things to come.
