The Vermont Lake Monsters dominated their way through the regular season. Finishing with a record of 42-24, the Lake Monsters were the first team in FCBL history to win 40 games in a season. They took their winning ways into the postseason, where they swept Worchester in the first round. It was the first time Worchester did not make it to the final in their seven-year existence.

The Lake Monsters met the Pittsfield Suns in the final, who knocked off Brockton in the first round. The matchup between the top two seeds went not only the full three games, but all the way down until the last at-bat. Vermont used a late rally to defeat Pittsfield 3-2 and take home the title. It finished an outstanding year for the Lake Monsters who had a regular season and postseason to remember.

Penn State outfielder Cole Bartels took home the MVP award while playing for the Westfield Starfires. Bartels finished the year leading the league in both average (.385) and home runs (6). Meanwhile, Patrick Harrington of Assumption University won Pitcher of the Year for the champion Lake Monsters. The right-hander finished with a 2.32 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 62 innings pitched.
