It Doesn’t Get Any Better!
Some might wonder how the Perfect Game National Showcase could be called the very best showcase in amateur baseball. There are many outstanding events held for high school age players. In fact, we feel the Aflac All American game should be called the very best event. There is no doubt that events like the Area Code Games and East Coast Pro should be at the top of any list. Both are well known for putting the best talent on stage and both are run by outstanding MLB scouts. These are unbelievable opportunities for talented players. Any player invited to the Area Codes or East Coast Pro should absolutely attend these can’t miss events. USA Baseball’s Tournament of the Stars is certainly one of the greatest events and could lead to a spot representing the USA Junior National Team in international competition. Then there are the Perfect Game WWBA and BCS Tournaments that include some that are recognized as the top scouting attractions in all of amateur baseball, but they are more team oriented rather than individual showcase events.
However, the first individual showcase of each year is the PG National. Many of those PG National players end up later appearing at the East Coast Pro or the Area Codes. After all, the MLB scouting departments are at the PG National looking for the best talent. The interesting thing is that the PG National players are selected based on their performance before they even play their junior summer. There are no tryouts, but these are the top players based on the opinions of Perfect Game Scouts. Even more amazing, if you go by the percentages, the results from the Perfect Game National held each June right after the draft are extremely impressive, to say the least. Whether we look at the college results or the draft results, they both shine. Most all of the past Aflac All Americans have attended the PG National. Perfect Game is the selection committee for the Aflac All American Classic.

The 2009 Perfect Game National Showcase will be held in the Metrodome in Minneapolis, MN . June 11-14th. This year Perfect Game will also hold a junior national for the very best 2011 players in the nation. The Junior National will also be in the Metrodome June 14-15. This was done because of the large number of top college programs requesting it.
