13u World Series Notes: Days 3-5

13u World Series Scout Notes: Days 1-2
Chaysten Fuentes (2030, Ewa Beach, HI) worked really well from the right side of the plate ending up with five hits and a double in the last two days. The right handed hitting Hawaiian has a ton of strength to the body. The hands work directly to the ball and can hit to all fields in the approach. Has done an incredible job getting the barrel to almost everything and gets on plane in the turn. 

Triston Valdez (2031, Castaic, CA) was electric on day four batting .500 with a double, triple, and five rbis. The barrel is really quick to the ball and works with a level path. Against NY Gotham 13u Ghost, Valdez would not be denied demolishing the bases clearing triple way back into the RCF gap. Stays inside the baseball consistently with the hands and torques it hard. 



Christopher Julian Leija (2031, Weslaco, TX) really showed out the last two days tallying five hits including three doubles and a homerun. Strongly built right handed hitter with incredible feel for the barrel at the age. Separates the hands in the load and works through contact with a fast barrel. Just flat out hit all week long.

Brooks Bennett (2030, Harleysville, PA) the second ranked player in Pennsylvania went an impressive 3-4 with two doubles and two rbis. Longer frame at 6’1/167 lbs, and uses his length well. Creates solid hip-shoulder separation in the load and whips the barrel hard through the zone. Does a really good job working through the ball at contact and elevated with intent. 

Michael Wedgeworth (2030, Flomaton, AL) showed off at the dish the last two days driving in five runs on three hits. The two way prospect with high caliber arm talent has been impressive with the bat. Showed off lots of strength in the levers and uses it well to control the barrel. Picked up two base hits against HTX Wildcatters Navy including a pullside double that plated two. Adjusts well to breaking balls and competed at a high level.

Carlos Murray Jr. (2031, Apopka, Fla.) has been heating up throughout the weekend. The 5’9 165-pound right-handed hitter has accumulated six hits, including a double and two home runs, with six RBI to go with it. Has shown a great approach at the plate with good plate discipline, adding two walks in some impressive at bats. Displayed a direct and efficient barrel path with good extension through the zone. Has flashed some serious juice to the pull side as well. 

Radner Roth (2031, McKinney, TX) has become a threat to opposing teams this weekend. The 5’10 165-pound right-handed hitter has produced many barrels, racking up five hits, including a double and a triple, and an RBI to go with it. Added a couple walks as well as three runs scored to continue his production. The hands work really well, keeping them tight through the turn and firing them through the zone. Has displayed the ability to produce power to all fields. 

Bennett Hassel (2031, Jacksonville, Fla.) the 5’7 150-pound right-handed hitter has proven to be a problem for opposing pitchers. He has collected three hits in five at bats, including a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. Low hand setup in the box with good rhythm that allows him to consistently be on time. Quick and strong hands paired with a strong and effective lower half that produces hard contact consistently. 

Lucas Litton (2030, Sewell, NJ) has been on a tear throughout the weekend. The 5’10 140-pound left-handed hitter has been extremely productive producing three hits, including a triple, and five RBI. He came around to score five runs of his own as well. Very short and simple swing that works well to all fields, and keeps the barrel in the zone for a long time. Has displayed a good feel for the barrel as he found the barrel in almost every at bat. Present power as the ball jumps off his barrel in a hurry. 

Carter Ace Johnson (2031, Katy, TX) has been a reliable bat throughout the weekend. The 6’2 184-pound right-handed hitter has produced three hits, two of which being a double and a home run, and an RBI while scoring three runs of his own. The tall and athletic frame translates well in the box, showing off loose and quick actions. Short barrel path with good bat speed to go with it. Has consistently found the barrel, displaying good bat to ball skills.

Danny Castro (2031, Westbury, NY) delivered a loud offensive performance on Monday, going 2-2 with a triple, a towering home run, and 3 RBI. Castro showcased a short, compact swing that stayed in the zone for a long time generating plus power to his natural side.

Tatum Fuller (2030, Madison, GA) has been unstoppable these last two days of the event, collecting six hits, eight runs scored, four triples, and four RBI. The right-handed hitter consistently hit the ball with authority to all parts of the field, showcasing elite bat speed and an advanced feel for the barrel. 

Brenner Brown (2031, Kernersville, NC) showcased intriguing two-way upside in his game on Sunday, making an impact on both sides of the ball. On the mound, Brown tossed three scoreless innings, striking out four with a fastball that ran all the way up to 85 mph. He paired the heater with a nasty 12-to-6 breaking ball that consistently was in the zone for strikes. Offensively, Brown contributed with one hit and one RBI, showcasing a loose and easy swing from the left side. 

Jace Winston (2031, Fuquay-Varina, NC) put together an impressive two-day showing at the plate collecting three hits, including a long double, while scoring two runs. Winston features a physical, athletic build with present strength and projectability. At the plate, he creates quality separation in his load with lighting quick hands through the zone.

Tyler Bellush (2031, Summerville, SC) turned in a strong offensive performance on Sunday, collecting two hits, including a triple, while driving in one run and scoring two runs. The left-handed hitter showcases present barrel accuracy, consistently hitting the ball hard and producing quality contact. Easy power to the pull-side with a clean and repeatable swing.

Austin Way (2030, Yulee, FL) was 2-3 in game four, driving in a run and scoring once himself. Picked it well defensively at shortstop but really showed out in the box today. Works the barrel path to the middle of the field and whips the barrel through the zone. The RHH creates lift in the turn, and the ball jumps off the bat hot.  Sutton Walling (2029, Ponte Vedra, FL) is an athletic 5’11/160lb infielder who gets it done on both sides of the ball. Dominated at the plate right behind his teammate Way in the batting order going 3-3 with two doubles. He does a really good job with the barrel accuracy and works through contact with heavy hands. Lots of project-ability in the profile and is having a sneaky great week at the plate. Storylines Heavy College Run Early We came into the day knowing that there were a lot of talented college players at the top of the board, more specifically college bats. That came to light very early in the day, as we saw just two prep players selected within the first ten picks. The college preference lasted throughout most of the entire first round. Nearly 75% of the first 40 selections were college players. It's draft day and that means it's time for our final Mock Draft with the 2026 group. 1. Chicago White Sox | Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA It’s between Roch and Grady Emerson at this pick, though there have been heavy rumors of a very late deal potentially with another top 5 pick. This boils down to negotiations and we think that they will get there.  2. Tampa Bay Rays | Grady Emerson, SS, Fort Worth Christian (Tex.) Cape Cod League Scouting Notebook  Maverick Rizy | Ole Miss | RHP | Brewster Whitecaps  The towering 6-foot-9, 250-pound right-hander continues to stand out with one of the more unique looks on the Cape, pairing a massive frame with a low three-quarter slot that creates difficult angles for hitters. While his fastball velocity was down from its typical mid-90s range during this look, working mostly 90-92 mph, it still generated plenty of swing-and-miss. He paired the heater with an 81-83 mph gyro slider featuring tight bullet-spin action and mixed in an 85-mph changeup with quality separation.
