SANFORD, Fla. – Canes Florida 14u South ended the 14u Florida Select Championship exactly how they started it. They put up runs in bunches. Spanning three days, the Canes went 6-0 and outscored opponents 54-19, with four games being decided by a run-rule performance.

The championship game was a similar story. It was a 13-hit attack that started in the first inning, and the Canes never let off the gas en route to a 13-4 run-rule finish. The first inning started with a two-out rally that ended in two runs. Jackson Miller (2025, Palm Beach, Fla.) started with a single and RJ Machado (2025, Sunrise, Fla.) and Anthony Espinoza (2025, Boynton Beach, Fla.) followed with base knocks of their own. The second inning was the big one, as seven runs crossed the plate to essentially put the game away early. A walk and a couple singles started the action before Machado came up to the plate and belted a ball to right field that would end up being an inside-the-park home run. Miller and Machado would combine to go 5-for-5 at the dish in the championship.

John Rodriguez (2025, Boca Raton, Fla.) pitched four innings to earn the win, scattering seven hits and giving up a couple of runs. He held a potent offense at bay that came in 5-0 on the weekend.

Ballers Baseball got into the finals with an undefeated record and won an intense, extra innings affair in the semifinals. Nicolas Partridge (2025, Haines City, Fla.) had three hits in the championship game in the leadoff spot. Malakhi Boone (2025, Webster, Fla.) hammered two doubles and Grayson Gibson (2025, Tampa, Fla.) chipped in two hits, including a triple, for Ballers Baseball in the championship game.

MVP: Anthony Espinoza, Canes Florida 14u South
