Trosky Platinum 2024 defeated Lonestar National 2024 by a score of 9-4 to move on to the championship game. Ishaan Khambal (2024, Fremont, Calif.) got the start for Trosky, throwing 2 1/3 innings, striking out three, walking four, and giving up just one hit. The former 14U Select Festival player ran it up to 87 mph and sat in the low- to mid-80s throughout the game. He featured a curveball in the mid-70s with vertical movement and downer action. The freshman has a loose arm action and advanced mechanics for his age and is certainly a special talent. Elbert Craig (2024, Mansfield, Texas) had a nice day at the plate for Lonestar, finishing 2-for-3 with three loud barrels. He keeps his bat vertical prior to launch, whipping it through the zone with quality bat speed. The primary first baseman has an imposing, 6-foot-3, 210-pound frame, and the strength and physicality really stand out among his peers. He roped a single through the six-hole for his first hit and added a double in the gap for his second base knock.
