2022 Top Prospects

Andruw Jones  OF - 2022 - Suwanee, GA
Vanderbilt

The third ranked player in the 2022 class showed his tools well, running a 6.47 sixty, showing his graceful actions in centerfield and his big right handed bat speed and barrel whip. The speed and barrel whip came together on a nice triple off the left centerfield wall.

Termarr Johnson  SS - 2022 - Atlanta, GA
Arizona State

Johnson just participated in the drills portion of the Games but showed his high level tools very well, especially his left handed bat. He has huge bat speed and raw power and gets into his strong and fluid hips about as well as you will ever seen a young hitter do.

Gavin Kilen  SS - 2022 - Milton, WI
Louisville

Kilen is simply one of the best hitters in the 2022 class and he dominated batting practice and just about every at-bat for three days. He has bat speed and power but most impressively is able to adjust his swing from pitch to pitch and even drive the ball with mid-90's exit velocities to the opposite field.

Dominic Hellman  SS - 2022 - Mill Creek, WA
Oregon

Hellman jumps out right away with his Aaron Judge type 6-6/215 build and his huge physical tools. Along with being a 6.79 runner at that size, Hellman has big right handed power that measured 102 in his DK exit velocity and translated very well into his game at bats. He's one to really watch closely over the next two years.

Tucker Toman  3B - 2022 - Columbia, SC
Louisiana State

Toman is one of those players that when he comes to bat, especially batting left handed, everyone in the park stops what they are doing to watch. The switch-hitting infielder, who profiles as a second baseman at the next level, has explosive raw bat speed left handed and a very aggressive approach to using it.

Riley Stanford  OF - 2022 - Gainesville, GA
Georgia Tech

Stanford's big tools are very well known to prospect watchers and evaluators and he showed them well at East Cobb. He threw 98 mph from the outfield and 94 mph from the mound to showcase his arm strength and has big-time right handed power at the plate.

RJ Austin  SS - 2022 - Atlanta, GA
Vanderbilt

Austin had himself a huge event, blasting two game home runs high over the left field fence, running a 6.55 sixty and even throwing an inning on the mound and topping out at 91 mph. There is no lack of tools in this young Vanderbilt commits game.

Mikey Romero  SS - 2022 - Menifee, CA
Louisiana State

Romero had a very strong event on both sides of the ball and looks like one of the most polished and mature players in the class. He's got stronger since our last long look and really swung the bat well from the left side.

Jackson Cox  RHP - 2022 - Toutle, WA
Oregon

Cox was outstanding in his outing, showing an electric right arm that worked in the 88-92 mph range consistently with very little effort and plenty of projectability. He's a young Oregon commit who is going to shoot up the rankings.

Parker Coil  LHP - 2022 - Jones, OK
Arkansas

Coil has an excellent young pitcher's build and an extended high 3/4's arm slot that creates big angle to the plate on all his pitches. He topped out at 88 mph with consistent cutting action and worked glove side on right handed hitter's fists very well. Coil also threw a nice curveball and change up and was a strike thrower.

Griffin Herring  LHP - 2022 - Southlake, TX
Louisiana State

Herring was all business on the mound, using a solid three-pitch mix highlighted by a 86-89 mph fastball, a firm and deep slider up to 81 mph and a 79-81 mph change up that he uses at different times in counts. He threw strikes and dominated, as he often has this summer

Bradley Hodges  LHP - 2022 - Fleming Island, FL
Virginia

Hodges was in complete command during his outing, spotting his 88 mph fastball to the corners and dominating hitters with what was one of the best change ups at the event. He's been up to 91 mph this summer and has all the pitches to get any type of hitter out.

Cannon Peebles  C - 2022 - Mechanicsville, VA
Tennessee

Peebles was outstanding on defense for the entire event, showing off athletic quickness in all his actions and a big arm that was a weapon in games. He's also a switch hitter with some bat speed from both sides of the plate and plenty of offensive potential for the position.

Oliver Santos  LHP - 2022 - Newport Coast, CA
Duke

Santos has a plus 6-3/195 pitchers build and a loose and fast arm from a high 3/4's arm slot. He topped out at 88 mph, with plenty more there, and showed an outstanding 77 mph change up that hitter's couldn't recognize. The Duke commit has shown a potential plus curveball in the past as well.

Santiago Ordonez  C - 2022 - Coral Springs, FL
State College of Florida

Ordonez was outstanding on defense both in drills and in the games and the Florida State commit is really going to impact games on that side of the ball. He has plenty of strength in his right handed swing and did a good job of squaring the ball up, too.

Ethan Patera  RHP - 2022 - Downers Grove, IL
Louisville

Patera has a big and durable 6-4/220 build and a solid starter's three-pitch mix to work hitters with. He threw his fastball in the 87-90 mph range with good command and had an excellent change up he threw with conviction. The Louisville commits slider was a solid third pitch.

Jacob Reimer  3B - 2022 - Yucaipa, CA
University of Washington

Reimer took a very loud batting practice, crushing some balls into the top of the trees in left centerfield, then cut down his swing during the games and still made hard line drive contact. The Cal State Fullerton commit profiles as a power hitting third baseman at the next level.

Christian Smith  OF - 2022 - Temecula, CA
San Diego State

Smith is a big and strong right handed hitter with outstanding bat speed and power. He had two at-bats that really stood out, a 391 foot home run to left centerfield that was 99 mph off the barrel and a triple to centerfield that was 98 mph off the barrel.

Josh Tate  SS - 2022 - Fayetteville, GA
Georgia Southern

Tate was one of the fastest players at East Cobb, running a 6.48 sixty and showing the same type of speed on the bases. He has a strong arm at shortstop and plenty of middle of the field athleticism and despite being just 6-0/160, the Georgia commit has a whippy right handed bat with present bat speed.

Zach Crotchfelt  LHP - 2022 - Jackson, NJ
Auburn

Crotchfelt didn't show the 93 mph velocity he did a few weeks ago but he has a very smooth operation on the mound and his arm works very easily from an extended 3/4's arm slot that creates big angle on all his pitches. He's a very good athlete with a firm 6-3/205 build.

Wilburn Furniss  1B - 2022 - Nacogdoches, TX
Mississippi

Furniss has the exact same profile as his father of the same name, who was an All-American in 1996-98 at Louisiana State and a fourth round pick of the Pirates in 1998. His signature swing at East Cobb was a booming triple off the center field fence.

Marshall Lipsey  OF - 2022 - Longview, TX
TCU

Lipsey barreled up almost every ball for three days, line balls from gap to gap with a calm swing and very good bat speed for a left handed hitter who is only 6-1/165 with plenty of strength to come. The TCU commit is also a 6.75 runner.

Japhet A. Rosado  SS - 2022 - Orlando, FL
Stetson

Rosado may have been the defensive standout of the event, making highlight reel plays all over the infield and particularly at shortstop. Watching he and Dominican standout Manuel Beltre play middle infield on the same team was a joy to watch.

Mason White  SS - 2022 - Tucson, AZ
Arizona

White is a fun defensive player to watch in the middle infield as he not only has high level skills and tools but he plays the game with flair and imagination. He's also a left handed hitter with good bat speed and more to come.

Luke Hanson  SS - 2022 - Williamsburg, VA
Virginia

Hanson is a very interesting two-way prospect with a very projectable 6-2/180 frame. A Virginia commit, he showed good present bat speed and the ability to drive the ball in games and is an athletic 6.84 runner and middle infielder. Hanson was also up to 90 mph on the mound with a curveball and change up.

Brady Jones  RHP - 2022 - Decatur, GA
Georgia State

Jones had one of the biggest arms at the event, throwing 95 mph from shortstop during drills and 90 mph from the mound. He's a 6.74 runner with good overall athleticism and strong enough to create some present bat speed.

Cade McGarrh  SS - 2022 - Frisco, TX
Texas Tech

McGarrh's present tools don't measure up with some of the other shortstops in the 2022 class but the 6-3/160 athlete is extremely projectable and those tools will catch up as he fills out his long and lean frame. He has very smooth and athletic actions both defensively and as a right handed hitter.

Brandon Rogers  OF - 2022 - Chicago, IL
Oklahoma

Rogers is a quick twitch athlete who ran a 6.60 sixty and shows very fast hands at the plate that create plenty of right handed bat speed. He has a strong arm from the outfield and a centerfield profile.

Kade Shatwell  RHP - 2022 - Edmond, OK
Oklahoma State

Shatwell has a long and very projectable 6-3/165 build and a fast and loose arm action from an over the top arm slot. He worked steadily in the upper 80's and showed a quality slider that he could use far more often.

Tommy Specht  OF - 2022 - Dubuque, IA
Kentucky

Specht was one of the revelations of the event, as the Iowa native came to East Cobb with a 500 ranking and left as a top prospect. A 6-3/190 left handed hitter, Specht ran a 6.53 sixty, threw 94 mph from the outfield and showed outstanding overall athleticism

Devin Taylor  OF - 2022 - Cincinnati, OH
Indiana

Taylor has a young 6-0/180 body that's going to add plenty of strength and a smooth left handed swing that really projects well. He had one quality left on left at-bat during the games where he kept his hands back well on a breaking ball and lined a double up the left centerfield gap.

Gavin Turley  OF - 2022 - Chandler, AZ
Oregon State

Turley has a slender and athletic 6-2/160 build and a whippy right handed swing with very good bat speed and plenty of jump off the barrel, tools that will just keep improving as he gets stronger. He also ran a 6.71 sixty.

Julien Hachem  LHP - 2022 - Oak Park, IL
Oklahoma

Hachem is a seriously big young man at 6-7/235 and has a deceptive delivery that he controlled well. He topped out at 90 mph and also threw a cutter, curveball and change up, all for strikes.

Seth Keller  SS - 2022 - Mechanicsville, VA
Old Dominion

The 5-10/170 Keller showed solid shortstop skills and tools and had nice bat speed and gap power from the right side. He also impressed on the mound, where he was a strike throwing machine up to 91 mph to go with a very good change up.

Carson Laws  RHP - 2022 - San Antonio, TX
Midland College

Laws has a very young 6-0/160 build and a very fast right arm that is going to really add velocity from his present 85-88 mph. His 78 mph slider was one of the best breaking balls at the event, with power, tightness and depth and he took off it a bit at 74 mph with big curveball downer depth. He can spin it.

Jesus Pena  SS - 2022 - Miami, FL
Chipola College

Pena stands out for his strong and mature 6-3/210 body and excellent present strength. That strength is obvious in his right handed swing and he can really put a charge into a baseball. He's deceptively athletic for his size and should evolve into a solid defensive third baseman.

Luke Schmolke  RHP - 2022 - Mooresville, NC
Wake Forest

Schmolke is a 6-0/180 right hander who pitches bigger than his size due to his extended over the top arm slot that creates big angle who go with plenty of arm whip. He topped out at 90 mph on his fastball and his big 12/6 downer curveball in the mid-70's was a very good second pitch for him.

Andres Suarez  C - 2022 - Bethlehem, PA
Ohio State

Suarez stood out in the games both for his skills as a catcher and especially for the consistent hard gap to gap contact he made at the plate. The Ohio State commit has a nice balance of tools and skills.

Chris Arroyo  OF - 2022 - Coral Springs, FL
Florida

Arroyo has a chance as a two way prospect, with a smooth left handed swing with plenty of bat speed generated by his 6-2/200 build. He was also up to 88 mph on the mound with huge angle on a big breaking 74 mph curveball from an extended 3/4's arm slot.

Grant Aycock  RHP - 2022 - Greensboro, NC
UNC-Greensboro

The 6-5/190 Aycock is a very good all around athlete who ran a 6.98 sixty and worked out well in both the outfield and infield during drills. He was up to 90 mph on the mound with a very fast arm.

Andrew Fischer  3B - 2022 - Wall, NJ
Duke

Fischer has made huge strides since the Junior National, going from a 7.42 runner to a 6.93 and bumping his arm strength up as well. The 6-2/180 athlete's best tool remains his swing and bat speed, though, and he stood out in that area at this event.

Alvin Keels  SS - 2022 - Portsmouth, VA
Miami (OH)

Keels is a 6.66 runner with live athletic actions but was especially impressive at the plate. He has very quick hands and really showed his bat speed well with a high and deep home run to left field on Saturday.

Cole Ketchum  RHP - 2022 - West Point, MS
Mississippi

Ketchum is an athletic 6-1/190 right hander with three quality pitches in a fastball that reached 89 mph, a mid-70's curveball and a very advanced upper-70's change up. He showed plus command potential and a mature ability to mix his pitches and spot the ball to both sides of the plate.

Alex Stanwich  OF - 2022 - Tinley Park, IL
Tennessee

Stanwich is a strong tooled up 6-2/195 right handed hitting outfielder with 6.54 speed and a strong outfield arm that was 93 mph from the outfield and 89 mph off the mound. He has some big power in his bat as well if he can get to it consistently.

Justin Vossos  SS - 2022 - Missouri City, TX
Texas A&M

Vossos is a very projectable 6-0/170 shortstop with the physical tools to stay at shortstop for a long time. He ran a 6.68 sixty and showed quick feet moving laterally on defense to go with a 92 mph throwing arm.

Max Williams  OF - 2022 - Fleming Island, FL
Alabama

Williams has a very strong 6-1/195 build and an equally strong left handed swing that can really impact the baseball, with big future power on tap if he can develop more consistency in his swing. He's also a 6.98 runner with a 92 mph outfield arm.

Armando Briseno  3B - 2022 - Fontana, CA
Long Beach State

Briseno is the prototypical Southern California baseball player in many ways, not flashing big measurable tools but showing outstanding skills and lots of ability to play baseball. He's going to be an outstanding player at Long Beach State.

Jake Clemente  RHP - 2022 - Coral Springs, FL
Florida

Clemente is a solid all around athlete with a fast right arm that touched 90 mph off the mound, with more there, to go with a curveball and change up. The 6-3/190 right hander is committed to Florida and has a strong right handed bat with some power, too.

Florida International

Beltre is a young Dominican standout who has become a regular at Perfect Game events over the past two years. He keeps getting stronger and stronger with his right handed swing but his best tools and skills are on defense, where he is a pure shortstop with plenty of flair for the game.
