14u Select Festival Roster Preview

Photo: Brennon Seigler (Perfect Game)

East

Antonio Anderson, IF/RHP, 2023
6-2/175, S-R, Tri-Cities HS (Atlanta, GA)
Travel Team: East Cobb Astros

Anderson showed there isn’t much that he can’t do on the diamond throughout the course of the summer, logging more at-bats than anybody in the 14u Festival while still hitting .345 on the year. He’s a true switch-hitter with a natural feel for the barrel and plenty of bat speed from both sides of the plate, though he shows more lift to his path from the left side. The actions are natural at shortstop as he plays the position with comfort and shows a solid arm, helping produce a mid-80s fastball on the mound as well.

Cade Arrambide, C, 2024
6-2/185, R-R, Tomball HS (Tomball, TX)
Travel Team: Banditos Scout Team | College Commitment: Florida

Arrambide already has his commitment taken care of and he enters the 14u Select Festival as the top ranked player in the country. In terms of defense, you’ll be hard pressed to find another backstop with Arrambide’s level of athleticism, flexibility, and high level catch-and-throw skills at this level. With a bat in his hands the future Florida Gator can change the outcome of a game with a single swing, showing fast hands and plenty of lift to his path.

Angel Cepeda, IF/OF, 2024
6-0/115, R-R, Union Hill HS (Union City, NJ)
Travel Team: Team Citius National

Cepeda quickly checks a lot of boxes you look for in a young prospect, whether it’s on defense or with a bat in his hands. A righthanded hitter out of New Jersey, Cepeda generates the type of bat speed you can hear from the on-deck circle and the results off the barrel are extremely loud, creating big extension with jump to all fields. He picks the ball cleanly in the infield with soft hands and shows a bounce to his step, completing the plays with plenty of arm strength across the diamond.

Bryce Clavon, IF/OF, 2024
5-11/165, R-R, Dutchtown HS (Hampton, GA)
Travel Team:  Ohio Warhawks | College Commitment: Oklahoma

Clavon is one of the more twitchy players in Oklahoma City, recently running a 6.69 in the 60-yard at the 14u National Showcase, an asset that aids him well both on the bases as well as defensively. A primary shortstop, Clavon continues to elevate his game up the middle, though he also performs well in the outfield where he shows legitimate upside. The bat-to-ball skills are real for Clavon as well, showing a natural handle for the barrel and plenty of quickness in his hands.

Daniel Cuvet, 3B, 2023
6-4/215, R-R, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
Travel Team: Elite Squad National | College Commitment: Miami

Cuvet put an exclamation point on his 14u National Showcase performance with a long home run to his pull side during live action, just further reassuring his abilities with the bat. Physically built yet still offering long-term projection, Cuvet’s strength certainly plays in the box, showing present bat speed and obvious power off the barrel. And despite his size, Cuvet moves well on his feet with fluid actions and confident glove skills which’ll serve him well at the hot corner.

Kameron Davis, OF, 2024
5-10/186, R-R, Dougherty HS (Albany, GA)
Travel Team: Game On Black

Davis made quite the statement during his time in Fort Myers at the 14u National Showcase, first running an eye opening 6.59 in the 60-yard dash, an event best. An accomplished running back prospect as well, Davis excels on the diamond as well where he puts his physical strength to use as he whips the barrel through the zone with fast hands, staying shorter while impacting the ball hard around the diamond.

Eduardo Fernandez, RHP, 2023
6-3/195, R-R, Miami Christian (Miami, FL)
Travel Team: Aces Elite | College Commitment: Miami

A long and projectable 6-foot-3 righthander, Fernandez seems to make an improvement somewhere within his game every time we see him take the mound. Armed with a fastball that now works comfortably into the mid-to upper-80s, Fernandez showed off a tight slider during the 14u National which he took to the next level recently. While he pounds the zone with his fastball that features heavy life, the slider has true wipeout, swing-and-miss potential.

Ryan Gold, LHP/1B, 2023
6-3/170, R-L, Campbell HS (Smyrna, GA)
Travel Team: Smyrna Slammers

Gold put together a 2020 season that very few are capable of producing, excelling in a real two-way capacity, showing significant upside both on the mound and with the bat. A primary lefthanded arm, Gold has seen his fastball already top out at 87 mph, pounding the strike zone to the tune of 59 strike outs in just 32 innings this summer with just six walks. Offensively the righthanded stick hit .556-4-34 on the summer with innate barrel skills, giving him some of the top two-way potential in the country.

Evan Haeger, OF, 2023
6-1/170, L-L, Detroit Catholic Central (New Hudson, MI)
Travel Team: Motor City Hit Dogs | College Commitment: Alabama

Haeger was fantastic during the 14u PG World Series and after a week of play in Sanford, Florida the Alabama commit took home MVP honors for his offensive display. Still plenty projectable at 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, Haeger’s skill set is that of a prototypical leadoff hitter. He stays short and direct to the ball with his hands, showing solid bat speed from the left side with an all fields approach and rhythm to his operation, putting a consistent hit tool on display.

Jansen Kenty, LHP, 2023
6-0/175, L-L, East Coweta HS (Newnan, GA)
Travel Team: Georgia Jackets | College Commitment: Alabama

Kenty was nothing short of spectacular this summer, throwing at a variety of events, all of which typically were done in a dominating fashion. Strongly built, Kenty shows a natural feel on the mound, pounding the strike zone with a fastball up to 88 mph, generating nice extension down the mound while missing a bevy of bats. He tunnels both his changeup and curveball well, mixing both for strikes while keeping hitters off balance in the box.

Noah Lafine, RHP, 2024
5-10/150, R-R, Archbishop Hoban (Uniontown, OH)
Travel Team: Tri State Arsenal

Lafine announced his presence on the national scene in a big way during the 14u World Series, working comfortably in the 85-88 mph range on opening day of the event while looking like he was simply playing a game of catch. While not overly physical at 5-foot-10, 150 pounds, the arm speed stands out immediately as he routinely pounds the lower third at the knees with his fastball, turning over a changeup well for strikes and showing flashes of a sharp, mid-70s slider.

Jeff Lougee, IF/OF, 2024
5-11/160, L-R, Mechanicsburg HS (Mechanicsburg, PA)
Travel Team: Team Elite National

A primary shortstop out of Pennsylvania, Lougee played both the infield and outfield this summer while showing 7.0 speed at the 14u National Showcase. The athleticism stands out for Lougee and so does his lefthanded swing, perhaps his loudest tool and one that was on display throughout the summer circuit. Strongly built and still projectable, Lougee shows plenty of quickness to his hands and a natural feel for the barrel, spraying hard line drive contact to all parts of the yard.

Manuelle Marin, IF, 2024
5-11/160, R-R, Doral Academy Charter (Miami, FL)
Travel Team: Elite Squad | College Commitment: Miami

Marin proved to be one of the more exciting prospects this summer, excelling both in the batter’s box as well as at shortstop. Defensively his actions are pure and agile, showing balanced footwork and advanced glove skill, all of which were on display at the 14u National Showcase. Despite the physical projection, Marin already shows the ability to impact the baseball with excellent separation in his swing and plenty of strength at the point of contact.

Andre' Modugno, 3B, 2024
6-4/190, R-R, Don Bosco Prep (Upper Saddle River, NJ)
Travel Team: Canes National | College Commitment: Duke

Modugno is one of the more physically imposing players in the class of 2024 and it’s scary to think he’s only getting better each time we see him. His athleticism shines, moving gracefully on his feet despite his 6-foot-4 frame at 14 years old, and the arm strength stands out both across the diamond and from the outfield. Offensively, the young Duke commit shows some of the fastest hands in the class with big time bat speed and the type of jump off the barrel that’s not regularly found at the 14u level.

PJ Morlando, 1B/C, 2024
6-2/180, L-R, Fort Dorchester HS (Ladson, SC)
Travel Team: Canes National | College Commitment: Mississippi State

In terms of pure strength, there’s aren’t many players at the 14u level that can match the sheer force of which Morlando can impact the baseball. It was a successful first summer on the PG circuit for the young Mississippi State commit, hit .409 across several high level events before turning in one of the top exit velocities (94 mph) at the 14u National Showcase. There’s some defensive versatility to the profile, but make no mistake about it, the lefthanded juice is as real as it is loud.

Michael Mullinax, OF, 2024
6-0/174, S-R, North Cobb Christian (Canton, GA)
Travel Team: East Cobb Astros

Mullinax played up at the 15u level for the majority of the summer where he hit atop the lineup, and despite being one of the younger players, the switch-hitter excelled. While his righthanded swing is quick with whip, Mullinax’s lefthanded swing is even looser with more natural leverage and strength at contact. He’s a 6.76 runner with legitimate bat-to-ball skills at the top of the order while his arm strength in center field is another advanced tool in his arsenal.

Brandon Olivera, RHP, 2023
6-0/175, R-R, Barbara Goleman HS (Hialeah, FL)
Travel Team: Resmondo Baseball | College Commitment: Miami

One of several 13u PG Select Festival alum, Olivera showed some of the better arm strength at the 14u level early in the year at the MLK East when his fastball worked into the low-90s. He boasts plenty of arm speed and rhythm to his delivery on the mound, working downhill well with his fastball while mixing a pair of secondary pitches for strikes. His changeup is the more advanced of the two, showing late darting life though his 11-5 shaped breaker shows solid potential too.

Parker Picot, RHP/IF, 2023
6-2/165, R-R, Rochester Adams (Rochester Hills, MI)
Travel Team: Motor City Hit Dogs | College Commitment: Alabama

Like travel ball teammate Evan Haeger, Picot enjoyed almost nothing but success throughout the 14u World Series, claiming MV-Pitcher honors while also hitting a pair of home runs in the championship game, showing loose wrists and plenty of bat speed. A 6.69 runner who oozes athleticism and projection, Picot goes about his business on the mound with a simplistic delivery, showing a low effort release to deliver a fastball that works into the upper-80s.

Christian Rodriguez, RHP/OF, 2023
5-11/181, R-R, Marjory Stoneham Douglas HS (Coral Springs, FL)
Travel Team: Eagles Baseball

There’s real two-way potential with Rodriguez as he ran a 7.09 in the 60 at the 14u National Showcase as a primary outfielder, showing smooth and athletic actions with big arm strength and present strength in his loose righthanded swing. That arm strength translates well to the mound where he has been up to 91 mph with his best fastball, showing hard running life that consistently misses bats while mixing a short breaking ball for strikes.

Zion Rose, C/OF, 2023
6-1/190, R-R, Brother Rice (Chicago, IL)
Travel Team: Prairie Gravel | College Commitment: Louisville

There may not be a louder collection of tools at this year’s Select Festival than those of which Rose possesses, showing true five tool potential moving forward. A physically advanced 6-foot-1, 190 pound backstop, the young Louisville commit now owns both the pop time (1.82) and top catcher velocity (82 mph) records after his performance at the 14u National Showcase where he also ran a 6.69. His offensive abilities have been well documented as well with a short, yet explosive swing and plenty of impact strength.

Jackson Sanders, LHP, 2024
6-2/170, L-L, Valley HS (Opelika, AL)
Travel Team: Team Elite National | College Commitment: Auburn

Sanders burst onto the scene early this spring shortly after making his commitment to Auburn, repeatedly running his fastball into the upper-80s and has already touched 90 mph. There’s deception to his operation and plenty of arm speed as the velocity suggests as he attacks hitters while showing nice life to the pitch. His curveball is a legitimate second pitch, showing tight spin and depth with 1-7 shape along with the comfort to throw it regardless of the count.

Campbell Smithwick, C, 2023
6-0/175, L-R, Conway HS (Conway, SC)
Travel Team: Canes National | College Commitment: Mississippi

Smithwick can best be described as a middle infielder with catcher’s gear on when he’s calling the pitches as his actions are as loose and flexible as they are athletic, showcasing soft hands and top of the scale catch-and-throw skills. That’s not to take away from his offensive capabilities either as the young lefthanded hitter shows a willingness to work to all fields with quick hands, present bat speed and whip to the barrel head.

Anthony Tralongo, 3B, 2024
5-11/175, R-R, Palm Beach Central HS (Wellington, FL)
Travel Team: Hurricanes Scout Team

Tralongo returns to Oklahoma City after claiming last year’s 13u Player of the Year honors at the inaugural 13u Select Festival and he has continued to prove himself as one of the purer hit tools in the class. An athletic third baseman who shows defensive versatility, Tralongo finished just shy of the .400 mark this summer, speaking to his natural feel for the barrel as he shows the ability to adjust to off-speed and still put his legitimate strength at impact on display.

West

Matthew Champion, RHP/3B, 2024
6-0/170, R-R, JSerra Catholic (Fontana, CA)
Travel Team: USA Prime National | College Commitment: Arizona State

Time will tell which direction Champion ultimately goes, but for now his two-way skills are amongst the best in the class and they were all on display at the 14u National Showcase. A righthanded stick, the young ASU commit found nothing but the barrel, picking up hits in droves before toeing the rubber. Once on the mound he continued to impress, running his fastball up to 89 mph with a fast right arm but even more impressive was his feel for mixing three pitches for strikes.

Derek Curiel, OF, 2024
6-0/160, L-L, Orange Lutheran (West Covina, CA)
Travel Team: USA Prime National

Curiel has proven to be one of the most consistent bats in the country, picking up 19 hits during the 14u WWBA, setting the pace for the rest of his summer. His lefthanded swing is balanced and refined, allowing for plenty of barreled contact around the yard regardless the pitch. Curiel is just as impressive defensively in center field where he covers an abundance of ground with a quick first step, getting exception reads off the barrel with solid closing speed.

Zach Edwards, RHP, 2024
6-2/190, R-R, Riverton HS (Riverton, UT)
Travel Team: MBA Grays

Edwards jumped onto the national scene in a big way earlier this season during the Mountain West Select Championships where the young Utah native quickly put himself on the radar of every college coach. Physically built at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, the primary righthanded pitcher shows a fast right arm that already produces an upper-80s fastball, pounding the strike zone while mixing in a hard, potential wipeout slider in the upper-70s with late biting life.

Colt Emerson, IF, 2023
6-0/165, L-R, John Glenn HS (Cambridge, OH)
Travel Team: Team Elite National | College Commitment: Auburn

Young for the 2023 class, Emerson has already established himself as having one of the top hit tools in the country. The recent Auburn commit sports a long and ultra-projectable 6-foot, 165 pound frame though you don’t have to squint too far to see his ultimate upside as his hands are extremely quick as the barrel stays direct to the ball, spraying hard line drive contact to all fields. Defensively he shows the versatility to move around the dirt with quick footwork and the type of athleticism that shows in all facets of his game.

Jack Frankel, RHP, 2024
6-2/186, R-R, Prestonwood Christian Academy (Plano, TX)
Travel Team: USA Prime National

Throughout his Perfect Game career Frankel has always shown top-of-the-charts pitchability and command, something he has continued to show while his pure stuff has continued to take off. Showing plenty of arm speed and a refined set of mechanics, Frankel has already been up to 89 mph with late life as part of a real three-pitch mix. His upper-70s curveball is an advanced pitch already, showing tight spin and late bite and his ability to turn over a changeup is noted, giving Frankel three pitches with swing-and-miss potential.

Miles Ghossein, IF, 2024
6-2/180, R-R, Chaminade College Prep (West Hills, CA)
Travel Team: USA Prime National

Another 13u Select Festival alum, Ghossein has added noticeable strength to his 6-foot-2 frame since his last trip to Oklahoma and it’s making a big impact on the offensive side of things for the California native. His righthanded swing is as short as it is powerful, showing plenty of strength in his hands as he showed throughout the summer where he hit .352 with 10 doubles before playing pepper with the Green Monster during the 14u National Showcase.

Theodore Gillen, IF, 2024
6-2/184, L-R, Westlake HS (Austin, TX)
Travel Team: Lonestar Baseball Club

Gillen has a variety of high level tools at his disposal, including some of the best hand-eye coordination amongst this group. The swing is rather simple for Gillen and with his added physical strength he’s been able to impact the ball around the diamond with some serious thump. Once on base Gillen is immediately given the green light as he’s a constant threat to make things happen, showing foot speed and agility that suit him well at shortstop.

David Hogg II, IF, 2024
6-2/177, S-R, The Oakridge (Grand Prairie, TX)
Travel Team: Banditos Scout Team | College Commitment: Oklahoma

A young switch-hitter, Hogg took a majority of his live reps from the right side this summer where he does a nice job of staying short and direct, generating nice lift while using his physical strength to drive the ball. His numbers continue to jump across the board, running a 6.83 and throwing 88 mph across the diamond from shortstop where he shows light and nimble footwork and soft hands to help project him to stay at the premium position.

Ishaan Khambal, RHP, 2024
5-11/150, R-R, Bellarmine College Prep (Fremont, CA)
Travel Team: Trosky National

Khambal may not be the most physical of arms to take the mound in Oklahoma City but the young righthander will show one of the better two-pitch combos we’ll see. His arm action is loose and fluid through the backside, producing an easy mid-80s fastball that peaked at 87 mph with hard running life at the 14u National Showcase. The slider is a difference maker for Khambal, an upper-70s pitch with hard, late biting tilt which plays nicely off his heater.

Blake Larson, LHP, 2024
6-1/140, L-L, Southeast Polk (Des Moines, IA)
Travel Team: Iowa Sticks Scout

Larson is an arm who simply continues to improve every time we see him take the rubber, a trend that’s likely to continue given his loose and ultra-projectable 6-foot-1, 140 pound frame. The arm speed jumps out immediately for Larson, producing an easy mid-80s fastball that takes off out of his hand with some serious hop and running life. On top of the fastball, the young Iowan shows an advanced changeup with late diving life as well as the feel for a 1-7 shaped curveball with big depth through the zone.

Burke Mabeus, C, 2024
6-2/190, S-R, Coronado HS (Henderson, NV)
Travel Team: MBA Nevada

There’s a lot to like in regard to Mabeus’s overall game, especially on offense where the young switch-hitter shows legitimate skill from both sides. That said, his lefthanded swing is more advanced at present with a controlled and fluid path with which he generates plenty of loft while incorporating his physical strength well. Behind the plate he sticks pitches well, implementing quick footwork while showing big arm strength and solid catch and throw skills.

Coleman Mayfield, LHP, 2024
6-0/145, L-L, Elk City HS (Elk City, OK)
Travel Team: USA Prime National

Mayfield, an Oklahoma native, will serve as the unofficial host of this year’s 14u Select Festival and he looks to continue his string of Perfect Game successes after a loud performance this summer. Plenty projectable, the 6-foot, 145-pound Mayfield took home MV-Pitcher honors at the 14u WWBA where he struck out 19 in just 9.1 innings, showing a fast left arm that produced a fastball up to 85 mph and jumped on hitters with serious angle out of his hand.

Ridge Morgan, RHP, 2024
6-3/155, R-R, Westwood HS (Austin, TX)
Travel Team: Lonestar Baseball Club

Morgan is the type of arm you can dream on for days in terms of projection, already standing at a long limbed, high waisted 6-foot-3, 155 pounds. That said, Morgan’s abilities on the mound already rank as some of the best in the class as he pounds his fastball to either side of the plate with intent, topping out at 87 mph with short running life. Along with the heater the young righthander spins a hard, swing-and-miss type slider into the upper-70s with late biting life.

Litarris Murray, OF, 2023
6-2/180, R-R, Prestonwood Christian Academy (DeSoto, TX)
Travel Team: Canes National

Murray brings a speed component to the 14u Festival that not many can match at this level, running a 6.70 at the 14u National Showcase and it’s a tool that’s at the epicenter of his overall game. Batting atop the lineup for most of the summer, the righthanded hitting Murray shows outstanding hand-eye coordination as his .468 average this past summer indicates with quick hands while his foot speed puts pressure on opposing defenses on any ball put in play.

Chris Newstrom, C/IF, 2024
6-2/175, R-R, Chaparral HS (Scottsdale, AZ)
Travel Team: Scottsdale Dirtbags | College Commitment: Arizona State

There doesn’t seem to be anything that Newstrom can’t do on the diamond as he’s seen his fastball climb into the mid-80s, sports loose and flexible actions behind the plate defensively, and moves around on his feet in the dirt with fluid footwork and plenty of coordination. Already committed to Arizona State, Newstrom’s righthand swing is loose and easy, producing big bat speed with plenty of jump off the barrel to his pull side.

Jarren Purify, 3B, 2023
5-11/160, R-R, University Liggett (Detroit, MI)
Travel Team: Little Caesars | College Commitment: Michigan

Purify continues to elevate his game every season we see him, and this past summer was no different as it was clear he was playing at a different level. A fluid and rangy defender, Purify posted a 6.73 in the 60-yard and made notable strides with his arm strength, though it’s his offensive tools that might be the loudest component of his skillset. While the power continues to come, Purify’s natural bat-to-ball skills with a fluid stroke and consistent mechanics helped lead to a .448 average this summer with barreled contact to all fields.

Brennon Seigler, OF, 2024
6-0/180, R-R, Farragut HS (Knoxville, TN)
Travel Team: eXposure Prime

Among all the talented players in the 14u Select Festival, Seigler has proven himself to be one of the most consistent bats in the group with one big time performance after another. The MVP of the 14u WWBA, Seigler shows an innate feel for finding the barrel, keeping his barrel in the zone for a long time while working on a linear plane to square the ball up to all fields. On the summer he hit .455, proving to be a constant threat in the box though he’ll only continue to elevate his game as he adds physical strength.

Ty Southisene, IF, 2024
5-7/135, R-R, Coronado HS (Henderson, NV)
Travel Team: MBA Nevada | College Commitment: San Diego State

Players at this level don’t typically display the type of defensive actions that seem to come so naturally for Southisene, an early San Diego State commit. While he’s not the most physical of the group, his natural instincts and internal clock, along with silky smooth actions and incredibly soft hands, make him one of the best defenders in the class. His swing is both balanced and rhythmic, showing easy barrel speed through the zone with a real handle for squaring up high level pitching.

Raffaele Velazquez, C, 2023
6-1/209, L-R, Huntington Beach HS (Long Beach, CA)
Travel Team: MVP Hustle

Velazquez shows all the traits of a middle of the order type threat whenever he steps into the lefthanded batter’s box. Strongly built at 6-foot-1, 209 pounds, the young California native shows excellent rhythm and timing to his swing and possesses some of the strongest hands in the game, allowing him to drive the ball to all fields with authority. Behind the plate Velazquez shows some of the best arm strength (tied 14u National record with an 82 mph throw) while putting soft hands and flexible actions on display.

Landon Victorian, RHP, 2024
6-3/155, R-R, Barbe HS (Lake Charles, LA)
Travel Team: Banditos Scout Team

Victorian certainly looks the part of a future power arm with a broad shouldered and high waisted 6-foot-3 frame. Take his physical build and add in his electric arm speed and the young righthander already shows some of the better stuff in the 2024 class, working comfortably in the mid- to upper-80s with his fastball with the ball jumping out of his hand. He was excellent throughout the summer circuit, missing plenty of bats while mixing a breaker with tight spin and late depth through the zone.

Tanner Waldrop, 3B, 2024
6-0/170, L-R, Auburn HS (Auburn, AL)
Travel Team: Team Elite National

Any time Waldrop strides to the plate chances are you’ll see him find a barrel as that proved to be a reccurring outcome throughout the summer circuit. The strength he possesses on his frame exudes through his hands and his loose wrists allow him to whip the barrel while generating some high-level impact at contact. A primary third baseman, Waldrop moves well on his feet away from the bag and shows his athleticism and plenty of arm strength across the diamond.

Jaxon Walker, OF, 2024
5-11/170, L-L, Loudon HS (Lenior City, TN)
Travel Team: Homeplate Chili Dogs | College Commitment: Georgia

Walker is full of quick-twitch muscle as evidenced by his 6.72 speed in the 60-yard, though that’s just one tool the University of Georgia commit has at his disposal. Hitting atop the lineup for the majority of the summer (.352 average with 34 runs scored and 24 stolen bags), Walker’s lefthanded swing offers solid-to-ball skills as well as the knowledge of the zone (not afraid to take his walks) though there’s also strength to his profile with the ability to run the ball out of the yard.

George Wolkow, 3B, 2024
6-6/205, L-R, Downers Grove North HS (Downers Grove, IL)
Travel Team: Longshots Baseball | College Commitment: South Carolina

Wolkow is a fascinating prospect to follow over the next few years as the South Carolina commit already stands 6-foot-6 but moves around the diamond like a 6-foot middle infielder. Agile and athletic, especially for his size, Wolkow shows balance to his actions with soft hands out front and plenty of arm on his throws. It’s the long and loose lefthanded swing though that’ll truly draw you in with rhythm to his swing and big time barrel whip, making the power potential a very real tool.

Championship teams often reveal themselves when the game isn’t going their way. Performance Baseball 2028/Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team did exactly that. Trailing Florida Burn 2028 Scout through four innings, the Brewers refused to panic. Instead, they relied on timely hitting, consistent pitching, and an unselfish approach at the plate, rallying a five-run fifth inning before pulling away for a 9-5 victory to clinch their spot in the semifinals. The comeback was fueled by contributions throughout the lineup. Six different players drove in runs, including two RBIs each from Aiden Capobianco and Cameron Massey, while Matthew Heredia, Parker Weston, Ethan Smith, and Aj Bonnette each added an RBI of their own. On the mound, Derek Wenzel set the tone with 3.2 solid innings before Ethan Smith shut the door in relief, helping preserve the comeback victory. Although the Brewers have had a...

From the opening pitch, JK Select controlled the pace of the game. The offense jumped out early, scoring 6 runs in the 1st inning after timely hits from MVP Sean Shindo and Kade Manarpaac. The early lead gave the pitching staff confidence as they worked efficiently through the opposing lineup. “I've worked hard to get better at my game for the past few months; it means a lot that I did well and performed in a tournament like this” said Shindo. Starting pitcher Maddox Prones turned in a strong performance, allowing 3 runs while striking out 5 batters over 3 innings. The defense backed the effort with great plays in the middle infield, preventing GBG Vegas from building momentum....

On the second day of the 2026 Perfect Game National Elite Championship, one swing turned heads across the ballpark. The next one brought everyone to a stop. With Wow Factor Nation 16U trailing midway through its matchup against Sandlot Scout Team 2028, Micheal O'Connor launched a solo home run to spark the offense. Just one batter later, Aaron Frink stepped into the box and sent another ball over the fence, delivering back-to-back home runs that quickly became one of the most talked about moments of the tournament’s opening days. Parents gathered along the nets, players from previous games stopped to watch, and college scouts turned their attention toward the action as the two towering swings energized the crowd and brought new life to the game. Although Wow Factor Nation ultimately lost 5-3 after a hard-fought performance, the back-to-back home runs served as a reminder of the...

Following a jam-packed week of entertainment at the 17u WWBA Championships, the top nationally ranked program, USA Prime 17u National/Detroit Tigers Scout Team, faced off against Stacked Baseball 17u (No. 80 nationally) in the highly anticipated championship matchup as both teams looked to earn one of the most prestigious titles in all of travel baseball. Each talented squad entered the finale undefeated, but Stacked Baseball continued their dominance throughout the tournament, defeating the Detroit Tigers Scout Team 10-2 in mercy rule fashion to become national champions behind explosive bats and impressive pitching. Stacked Baseball was the overwhelming top team throughout the week as the WWBA Champions outscored opponents by an absurd 117-12 during their 11-0 run. “We got some talented kids, but we played against a little bit of Goliath over there,” Stacked Head Coach Mike...

17u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4  Day 5 | Day 6 Shea Corona (2027, Brooklyn, N.Y.) showcased some loud stuff out of the bullpen for MLB Breakthrough Series 2027. The New York native and primary shortstop topped out at 93 with the fastball, sitting comfortable in the 90-92 range. Corona paired it with a sharp and tight slider at 81-83, staying on the same plane until late. The pitch plays well already and the delivery is very athletic. The uncommitted right-hander went three scoreless and was in the zone plenty, striking out two while not allowing a walk. '27 SS Moises Gudino (FL) continues to stay red hot, working a long AB & cracking an oppo 2B on the 8th pitch. Flames Natty used timely hitting and a dominant start from Beau Collier to defeat NLB American 7-3 and capture the 18U BCS National Championship on Monday at Lee Health Sports Complex. Despite being assembled just hours before the tournament began, the Flames quickly developed chemistry throughout the tournament. “This team was put together 12 hours before this tournament, and they went on a crazy run,” head coach Adam Vasquez said. “These kids know each other locally, but they don’t play together. For them to come together last minute like that, it’s crazy. I’m proud of them for that.” The game opened as a pitchers’ duel, with David Acevedo recording the lone hit through the first two innings. NLB American starter Hayden Graham kept the Flames in check early, allowing just one hit while striking out one over 2.0 innings. The right-hander...

Fresh off a state championship for Bading High School, he has picked up where he has left off this spring. It seems that he gets bigger each time I see him, but the frame really works on both sides of the ball at 6-feet, 190-pounds. It’s athletic and the actions on both sides are extremely advanced. Sawyer took home MVP honors after finishing with nine hits, six going for extra bases including two home runs, nine RBIs and eight runs scored. It’s electric at...

Austin Lyons (2028, Cibolo, Texas) put on a display for Canes Southwest Prime 16U. Went 7-14 at the plate with a pair of doubles and triples, while driving in 13 runs. He won Tournament MVP for his efforts. Physical left-handed frame with feel to hit to all fields. Utilizes the middle of the field as well as the opposite field efficiently. Should be a force to be reckoned with as he grows into some more power. Evan Rosales (2027, Houston, Texas) was dominant on the mound for HP 2027 Allen. Went five shutout innings over the weekend, surrendering just one hit and two walks while striking out ten. Fastball lives 83-87 with some carry. Curveball is a heavy 12/6 downer at 69-74. North-south approach with a super steep release. Showed some really good feel for the zone and sequenced effectively to keep hitters off balance. Tristan Wright (2028, Magnolia, Texas) put on a show for Banditos 2028...
