Mid-Atlantic Scout Notes: 7/24 & 7/25

With action heating up in the Northeast these past few week, plenty of teams converged on the state of New Jersey in hopes of competing for a chance to stake their claim as one of the best teams in the region.

Uncommitted Joe Abramson (2021, Brooklyn, NY) got the start for Dream Chasers 2021/2022 in game one of pool play and fired four-and-a third shutout innings while not allowing a hit and punching out 6 hitters. Compactly built with some room to add strength, the left-hander comes at you from a tough lower three-quarters arm slot that creates tons of arm-side run. The fastball only works in the upper 70's but plays up due to its exceptional life and deception created from a slight cross-body release. The sweeping slider is the equalizer for Abramson, as he is able to manipulate the shape depending on the count, creating plenty of empty swings. The New York native throws plenty of strikes and shows the ability to land two quality pitches, one would think he can at minimum be a key bullpen piece as he moves forward.
