Tucker Holland (2023, Gibsonville, N.C.) started for the Canes National team Sunday morning and gave a really strong glimpse both in his size and stuff of what is to come for the big lefthander. Holland has a three pitch mix in his fastball that sat in the 85-87 mph range in the first inning, a cutter in the low 80s that has the makings of a really good out pitch and a curveball that he can spin right for strikes too. The uncommitted lefty settled into the game really well after a long first inning of finding his release point and locating the ball in the lower third of the strike zone. Once he did that, his next three innings were lights out. Holland did not allow a hit in his outing and used his loose arm to command his three pitch mix and overpower as well as keep hitters off balance.
