Team Elite Goes Perfect to Kick Off 13u Summer

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – With baseball finally getting back under way, it was an exciting weekend just a few short miles from the sunny beaches of Northwest Florida.

Team Elite came out hot at the dish and it very much stayed that way all the way through the weekend, putting up 48 runs in just six games. In the championship game, it was clean through two, but Team Elite would grab a commanding lead with four runs in the third and never looked back. The bottom of the lineup’s hits gave way to week-long performers Cannon Goldin, Eli Pitts and Micah Matthews to drive them in and put Team Elite on top for good.

On the mound it was a combined effort from three guys, two of which were the ones doing it at the plate as well. Ryan Stove faced five hitters in his one and two-thirds, striking out four of them before giving way to Micah Matthews and Cannon Goldin to pick up the other four and one-third where they’d uphold the shutout and pick up a pair of strikeouts each themselves.

MVP Evan Hankins was a huge driving factor in the success Team Elite saw at the plate as he hit to the tune of a .556 clip with a pair of singles and doubles with a triple, six walks and ten runs-driven-in mixed in there as well.

MV-Pitcher Cooper Moss shined bright in two separate appearances, tossing seven outstanding innings with just two hits allowed to four strikeouts. He also appeared for a one-inning stint in relief where he struck out one to just one hit allowed.

eXposure Edges Out East Cobb in a Championship Thriller

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – A game that started off quiet through two saw only one half-inning without a run from the third through the seventh.

eXposure no doubt had it going on from the mound and defensively prior to the championship game as they didn’t allow a single run in the four games prior, all while hitting to the tune of 24 runs. MV-Pitcher Evan Doss played a big part in that success when he pitched five much-needed shutout innings in the semifinal game, allowing just three hits and striking out three.

The championship game was a bit of a different story after the second when the Astros would hit for a three-spot in the third and a four-spot in the fourth putting eXposure down seven to one early. The fight began there as they limited the damage and fought back with two runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and then finally a three-spot in the sixth that would prove to be the winning runs after holding off a battle in the seventh.

MVP Isaiah Drake did all he could throughout the week to get the East Cobb team in a position to take home a title hitting to the tune of a .556 clip while driving in four runs and picking up three walks.
