Jered Goodwin is in Panama City, Fla. this weekend covering the 13u & 14u Deep South Surf's Up Championships where he'll be providing scouts notes, covering all the action between the two age group. Below are ten players who caught his eye on the first day of play. 

Pedro San Martin
The 5-10, 150 mpound righthander was nails during his quarter final outing as he ran his fastball up to 80 mph and worked his glove side well. San Martin was extremely efficient during his four-shutout innings as he only threw 43 pitches, pounding the strike zone throughout. There was a consistent mix as he shows excellent feel for his 71 mph curveball that kept hitters off balance and produced a lot of weak contact. A very
