Program History

"In the fall of 2012, the East Coast Sox Baseball Organization was formed under the prayerful direction of Joe Caruso and Greg Sykes. Later, Eric DuBose joined on to help with the mission in 2013. With our professional and collegiate coaching experiences and backgrounds, elite summer baseball seemed to fit our God-given talents and desires. After much prayer, we decided to build a Christ-centered baseball program to help young men grow closer to the Lord through the game of baseball, while still getting the opportunity to play high level summer baseball. Since 2013, the East Coast Sox has seen over 300 players or family members accept Christ, 763 players sign college scholarships, and 80 players drafted to play professional baseball. We are humbled and honored to have so much early success for such a young program. Winning the 2016 16U WWBA National Championship and the 2017 15U WWBA National Championship are still the greatest highlights in East Coast Sox history." -Joe Caruso

2019 Scouting Highlight

"One performance that immediately jumps out to me, personally, came courtesy of righthander Brayden Jones during the opening round of the playoffs during the 2019 WWBA Underclass Championships. Jones wasn't as established on the national scene as others in the tournament but he put together a quality performance in dominant fashion, living in the upper-80s with his fastball throughout the entirety of his five innings. He topped out at 90 mph but it was the type of outing where everything seemed to be working from the command to either side, to his feel to mix, and the consistent feel of his breaking ball...Of course, you can't talk about the 2019 season without mentioning a few other highlights that jumps out to our scouting staff, from Nick Bitsko bringing the heat during the 16u WWBA in which he demanded the attention of everybody in the park to PG All-American Slade Wilks who was a can't miss at-bat the entire summer and fall." -Jheremy Brown

What are we looking forward to scouting during the summer of 2020?

"The talent pool within the organization runs deep and with that said, players are consistently making jumps and there always seems to be somebody new to lock in on any time you watch the Sox, regardless of the age level. Their 2021 crop has a nice combination of bats and arms, and most notably depth, to make runs at all the national events with a majority of them having already played together. And as the last couple of years in Jupiter have shown us, the staff isn't afraid to bring in an electric arm or a big time bat for the brightest stage in amateur baseball. Last summer the 2023/14u class was strong but it has certainly grown and now features some high level prospects such as Kade Anderson and Jackson McKenzie to go along with Walter Ford and RJ Hamilton, two cornerstone pieces from last summer. They're certain to be a group to follow not only this summer but for the years to come as well." -Jheremy Brown
