In what is certainly one of the top handful of most competitive, most talented summer leagues in the nation, the Morehead City Marlins won their second consecutive Petit Cup as champions of the CPL. They were dominant from the start, winning both the regular season crown (best record in both halves of the season), then obviously going on to win the whole thing in the playoffs and eventual championship series this year over the Macon Bacon.

Eric Miles of Morehead City was named the Pitcher of the Year in the CPL following a dominant summer that saw him go 6-0 over 48 innings with a 2.06 ERA, striking out 58 hitters and walking just five. Macon’s Calvin Estrada won Player of the Year after a loud summer with the bat, hitting .361 with a league-record 25 doubles to go along with six home runs and 46 RBI. Both Miles and Estrade will be draft-eligible in 2020.
