7/22 12U PG Series Game Recaps

12U PG Series Game Recaps- 7/22

On the first day of games at the 12U PG Series, team North, Coastal, Puerto Rico, Southeast, and Central all came away with wins. The most impressive win of the day coming from Coastal who threw a no-hitter behind a pitching committee of Will Wyles, Joey Masiak, Nigel Robinson, Travis Rhoads, and Gunnar Healy. The staff also combined for 9 total K's. Joey Masiak also had a great day at the plate leading his team in hits with 2 while Jacob Lee led them in RBI's with 2.

North put on a hitting clinic in their first game as almost their entire lineup recorded a hit with David Anthony Rodriguez (3-3, 2B, 3 R and 2 RBI), Dane Morrow (2-3, 2 R, and an RBI), Benedetto Andreoli (1-2 and 2 RBI), and John DiMarsico (2-3, 1 R, and an RBI) leading the charge. For Mid South, Thomas Conrad went 1-2 with a run scored and RBI but it wasn't enough as North got the win.

Puerto Rico was the only team with a double header today and they took advantage of their first game with 4-1 win over South. Alwin Orengo was the MVP of the game after going 2-2 with an RBI and run scored. Puerto Rico's second game of the day was a close battle with Central but they couldn't improve to 2-0 as Central exploded for 4 runs in the 4th and pulled out the 4-2 win. Sterling Widman swung the bat well for them going 2-3 including a double, RBI, and run scored.

Our final game of the day was between West and Southeast. Southeast had a huge 3rd inning dropping 6 runs and eventually getting the win. Lorenzo Atwell had one of the best performances of the day going 2-3 with a triple and knocking in 4 runs. On the mound for Southeast, Carson Mari and Avery Shiflett combined for 0 earned runs, only 2 hits, and 9 total K's.
