Weather unfortunately continues to be the biggest storyline in college baseball, as poor conditions have forced re-scheduling, and in some extreme cases, cancellations, from one coast to the next. Vanderbilt hosted their second Sunday doubleheader in four weeks, and made the most of the opportunity taking both games from previously fourth-ranked Ole Miss. The series win was the fourth for the Commodores since SEC play opened, with three of those series wins coming against ranked opponents (LSU, Georgia and now Ole Miss).

While weather also shortened Duke's series against Florida State, Duke won each of the first two games and as a result are in first place of the Coastal Division in the ACC. FSU on the other hand also lost to Florida during the middle of the week, going 0-3 for the week which caused them to drop seven spots in the rankings.

The top-ranked Gators seemingly haven't been affected by the weather, enjoying the warmth the Sunshine State has to offer while pushing their overall record to 32-6 on the year. In addition to their mid-week win over Florida State, their third win over the Seminoles this season, they swept visiting Mizzou to continue their season-long stranglehold on the top spot of the College Top 25.

New to the rankings this week are Coastal Carolina and Texas. The Chanticleers have been knocking at the door for several weeks now while the Longhorns became the second team – following in the footsteps of North Carolina a week ago – to re-join the Top 25 after falling out in mid-March. Coastal Carolina and Texas take the place of Sam Houston State and Missouri, a pair of programs that suffered losing weeks.
