National High School Top 50: April 11

Buchanan (Calif.) holds on to the No. 1 spot in the Perfect Game/Rawlings National High School Top 50 despite suffering their first loss of the season. Archbishop McCarthy (Fla.) had another ho-hum week and retains its spot at No. 2. After that, things start to get a little hairy.

Parkview (Ga.) jumps to No. 3 and is followed by South Hills (Calif.) at No. 4 and Winder-Barrow (Ga.) at No. 5. Winder-Barrow is enjoying an excellent season and is led by the big senior bats in the middle of the order. Righthanded hitters Beau Hanna and Pat DeMarco are enjoying tremendous seasons and the two Division I commits are a big reason why they are ranked so high.

The biggest jump of the week belongs to Spring Hill (Tenn.). After joining the rankings just a few weeks ago, Spring Hill has solidified itself as the team to beat in the state as they are off to an undefeated start to the season. They jumped to No. 13. Some other teams who made big jumps are Columbus (Fla.), Shawnee (Okla.) at No. 10, and George Ranch (Tex.) at No. 15.

The Midwest and Northeast are starting to get good representation as teams in those respective regions are off to hot starts. Nineteen states are now represented in the rankings and that includes many states that were not in the initial rankings.

New teams to the rankings include Mosley (Fla.) at No. 35, Harvard-Westlake (Calif.) at No. 44, St. Thomas Aquinas (Kan.) at No. 46, Archbishop Moeller (Ohio) at No. 47, William Penn Charter (Pa.) at No. 48, and Calvary Christian in Clearwater (Fla.) at No. 50. IMG Academy (Fla.) also rejoins the rankings after being a member of the Preseason Top 50.
