No. 18 UCLA 4, Oklahoma 2

The 2016 version of the Dodger Stadium tournament is about high volatility teams and high-end prospects. In the latter category, Alec Hansen jumped forward and backed up the considerable preseason hype he had been collecting.

Reports from Hansen's first two starts were paradoxical: the stuff was elite and the results were abominable. Today's outstanding start will hopefully begin a new trend for the Oklahoma righthander.

Hansen ran his fastball up to 98 mph and rarely went below 94 mph with the offering in 6 1/3 innings. He lacks fastball command but his control was excellent all day and he surrendered just one walk.
