2-Columbia Blue vs 3-Purple Game Highlights

3/27/2022

Jamison Seay (2027, Redding, CA) found a loud barrel on a deep drive to center field. The right-handed hitter followed it up with a hard hit single to the pullside. 


Dylanger Wattles (2028, Simi Valley, CA) threw the ball well throughout his start on the mound. The young righthander used a fastball with cut action and a downward breaking curveball to keep hitters off balance. 


Jason Campbell (2025, Tracy, CA) cruised through his three innings of work on the bump. The righthander used a fastball that topped at 75 mph and a curveball that showed late depth. The athleticism and arm strength also played well on the infield, making numerous quality plays. 


Alex Escalante (2025, Stockton, CA) showcased advanced atheltism on the dirt. The infielder showed the ability to range both ways and make tough plays on the run. 


Eli Daniel (2027, Caldwell, ID) produced a loud barrel to deep center field, resulting in a triple. The right-handed hitter uses his lean build well at the plate, generating quality power that plays to all fields. 


Matthew Carano (2026, San Ramon CA) found a loud barrel in his last at-bat. The right-handed hitter used his strong frame and a slight uppercut bat path to drive the ball to deep center field for a double.

Jacob Webster (2026, Victorville, CA) cruised through his two innings of work using an upper-70's fastball and a sharp, low-60’s curveball. The two-pitch mix missed bats regularly. Webster also showed strong two-way ability as a switch hitter with a loud barrel from the left side. 


Chaz Templeton (2027, Roseville, CA) threw the ball well on the mound. The righthander pounded the zone with a low-70’s fastball and mid-60’s curveball. Templeton also showed good athleticism on the mound, making multiple quality plays.  


Lane Powell (2026, Redding, CA) produced a loud barrel to the pullside for a stand up double. A simple swing gets on plane early, combining with a lean build to produce some power to the pullside. 


Diego Topete (2026, Chula Vista, CA) continued to show good barrel accuracy with a hard hit ball back up the middle of a base hit. A sound approach stays through the middle of the field often. 


Ayden McGinnis (2027, Phoenix, AZ) used his athleticism well down the mound and a lower arm slot to create good deception. The fastball sat in the mid-70’s and paired with a low-60’s breaking ball to miss bats frequently. 


Chris Basurto (2026, San Ramon, CA) continued to produce loud barrels at the plate with another base hit back up the middle. The advanced feel for the barrel leads to frequently hard hit line drives. 


Tyler Williams (2026, Brentwood, CA) took a fastball right back up the middle for a base knock. The left-handed hitter uses a simple, linear path to produce frequent line drives. 


Andres Guzman (2026, Elk Grove, CA) drove in two runs on a hard hit line drive to the pullside. The right-handed hitter got the barrel on plane early and turned on an inner-half pitch.

Graham Sanger (2027, Oakland, CA) got things rolling with a lead off base hit down the left field line. The right-handed hitter has shown the ability to use the entire field well. 


Ayden McGinnis (2027, Phoenix, AZ) continued to show consistent barrel accuracy on a hard hit ball to deep right field. The left-handed hitter uses a simple swing that gets on plane early. 


George Malone (2026, Redding, CA) used his strong frame well to drive a ball into left field for a single. Malone also showcased the ability to create runs on the bases with an aggressive running style. 


Rahul Patel (2026, San Jose, CA) found a barrel on a line drive back up the middle to drive in a run. The left-handed hitter showcased a patient approach with the ability to work deep into counts. 


Diego Topete (2026, Chula Vista, CA) drove a ball hard into left field for a base hit. The right-handed hitter uses his strong frame well to produce loud barrels. 


Joshua Adams (2026, Rancho Cucamonga, CA) showed intriguing stuff on the mound. The fastball reached 81 mph and paired well with a sharp slider in the mid-60’s. Adams also showed strong two-way ability with a loud barrel for a stand up triple. 


Jacob Webster (2026, Victorville, CA) continued to show an advanced hit tool with a single to right field. Webster immediately showed the ability to read balls in the dirt well on the bases and use his speed to steal bags. 


Chris Basurto (2026, San Ramon, CA) found multiple barrels throughout the game. An inside-out approach allows for balls to be driven the other way well. 


Treston Caliboso (2027, Ewa Beach, HI) used a linear path to find a hard hit line drive to the opposite field. The easy, balanced swing displayed advanced bat to ball skills. 


David Aguirre (2027, Bakersfield, CA) used a simple operation down the mound, allowing him to pound the zone. The righthander paired a heavy tailing fastball at 73-75 mph with nasty, fading changeup.

Ayden McGinnis (2027, 1B, Phoenix, AZ) features a tall slender build with plenty of room add more as he gets older.  He showed off his athleticism at first base, moved well laterally to both sides of the ball. Made a sweet play in foul territory, also showed the ability to make the routine plays. McGinnis swung the bat well, displayed a short compact swing with good bat speed.

 

George Malone (2026, UT, Victorville, CA) his ability to play any position was impressive, he features a strong athletic build that plays well and holds a big presence. Malone moved well laterally to both sides of the ball in both the outfield and the infield. He also swung the bat well, consistently showed the ability to hit the ball well to both gaps. He led his team in hitting and ended the day 2-for-2. Also got on the mound to close out the game, the command wasn’t all there but there was a lot to like and he found a way to get outs.

 

Tyler Williams (2026, RHP, Brentwood, CA) was electric on the mound, the fastball sat 81-82 mph with good arm side run. He threw two solid innings, struck out 2 batters and only allowed 1 hit the rest were weak contact outs. Williams showed the ability to make the routine plays in both the outfield and the infield. He was light on his feet with a quick transition and displayed firm accurate throws. He also swung the bat well and showed the ability to consistently hit the ball on a line, has a short compact swing with good bat speed.

 

Alex Escalante (2025, SS, Stockton, CA) came ready to play, showed off his athleticism defensively and on the bases. Escalante came a long way and caught a blooper in shallow left field. Displayed a smooth glove with a quick transfer and made the routine plays. On the bases he was aggressive and always looked to take the next base. Also got on the mound and was lights out. The fastball sat 77-79 mph with good run, he threw a lot of strikes and attacked hitters early.

 

Matthew Carano (2026, RHP, San Ramon, CA) throes from a three-quarter arm slot with good arm speed. The fastball worked well to both sides of the plate generating a lot of swing and misses. The fastball sat 73-77 mph with good ride.

 

 

 

 

 


Batting Practice Highlights

3/26/2022

Addison Latko (2026 C, Park Ridge, IL) has a solid athletic swing full of impact potential. He does a great job staying compact and releasing the barrel for consistent leverage. Still has physical projection left with present strength he showed off in his round.

David Aguirre (2027 C, Bakersfield, CA) will be an interesting swing to watch in game. He repeats his refined swing very well working gap to gap with good strength and feel for his barrel.

Ayden McGinnis (2027 LHP, Phoenix, AZ) displayed one of the best left-handed swings and produced plenty of loud contact playing to all fields in his round. Repeats his swing smooth with a lofted path generating consistent leverage that carried throughout his round

George Malone (2026 3B, Victorville, CA) seems to be transferring his physical upside across his tools and did not disappoint with his bat. The switch hitter is fluid on both sides and his size and strength reflected the consistent carry each time he connected. Should be a solid bat to watch play in game.

George Malone (2026 3B, Victorville, CA) repeats his swing well on both sides with playable bat to ball skill to build on. Solid round from the left side showing off his bat speed and pull side impact.

Jack Addison (2027, Auburn, CA) showcased solid feel for the barrel using a simple linear swing. A quality approach led to frequent line drives back up the middle.

Matthew Carano (2026, San Ramon, CA) displayed quality bat speed throughout the round. It combined with a strong frame to generate quality pull side power when in sync.

Alex Escalante (2025, Stockton, CA) uses a linear path with quality bat speed to produce hard hit line drives back up the middle throughout the round. The bat speed also allowed for pitches on the inner half to be turned on well.

Cesar Mercado (2026, Salinas, CA) showcased a balanced, low effort swing capable of producing frequent barrels to the pull side. Good extension out front helped generate some power that way.

Andres Romo (2025, Hayward, CA) showed good bat speed on a linear path through the zone. A strong frame helped produce quality power that played gap to gap.

Trenton Caliboso (2027, Ewa Beach, HI) showcased a balanced swing with good rhythm throughout the round. Quality feel for the barrel helped produce hard hit line drives frequently.

Joshua Adams (2026, Rancho Cucamonga, CA) displayed quality bat speed throughout the round capable of turning on balls. Feel for the barrel combines with the bat speed to produce a fair amount of power to the pull side.

 


3-Purple vs 2-Columbia Blue Game Highlights

3/26/2022

Daniel Martin (2026 C, Hawthorne, CA) grabbed a hard barrel early flashing some good impact. Durable build athlete has shown good feel for the bat and runs into good contact with balance.

Eli Daniel (2027 1B, Caldwell, ID) showed of playable tools on both sides. On the mound he ran it up to 76 with command for his fastball. Also attacked the zone with the bat and roped a base hit with run production following his good outing on the mound.

Joshua Adams (2026 SS, Rancho Cucamonga, CA) is a spark plug athlete who impressed on both sides of his game. In the infield he covers the left side very well with a lot of upside in his versatile arm, his smooth actions play in game with a quick release from multiple slots and his throws carry on the bag consistently.

Blake Moore (2025 LHP, California City, CA) opened the game with a good start on the mound. The high waisted, 6-foot-4 southpaw ran his fastball up to 77 early working low-to-mid 70’s with good life in the zone and feel to spin the breaking ball with shape. He uses his length very well downhill with plenty of physical projection to engage down the line and transfer to his craft as he progresses.

Addison Latko (2026 C, Park Ridge, IL) found a pair of barrels with three stolen bags in the first game of the day. He showed early signs of five tool impact as he develops and held a solid motor in each phase of the game. He is very athletic across his game with plenty more to see.

Trace Murchison (2027 OF, Antelope, CA) collected a pair of hits showing a consistent approach at the plate. He has an easy inside-out swing that drove a pair of base hits the other way with good run production.

Rahul Patel (2026 RHP, San Jose, CA) was very effective and interesting on the mound. He showed a lot of confidence in his secondary with a real loose arm and tunnels the breaking ball well. His fastball was mostly low-70’s with his best pitch being his breaking ball. He showed a good feel for his operation with knowledge of landing in the zone and finished up a solid outing with rhythm on the .

Ayden McGinnis (2027 LHP, Phoenix, AZ) is a solid athlete with a projectable 6-foot frame. He showed a lot of defensive awareness with versatile tools playing well both in the outfield and 1B. He can run into contact with strength showing off a smooth lofted swing from the left side.

George Malone (2026 3B, Victorville, CA) is a physical 6-foot-2, 180-pound backstop with sound actions behind the dish and plenty of upside in his arm also showing versatility in the field. He was impressive in batting practice with plenty of anticipation to transfer his strong impact to the game that he flashed.
