West WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4
Wyatt Schottel (2024, Phoenix, Ariz.) has a thin and projectable 6-foot-3 frame for the Red Swarm starting pitcher.  Outstanding outing on the bump, going 5 2/3 innings allowing just 3 hits, 0 earned runs while striking out 11 hitters.  Sat 83-85 mph on the fastball early in the outing with a little velo dip as the outing progressed.  Has a little hip turn at the top of his leg kick, helps the arm get on time, as well as add deception in hiding the ball, as the fastball really played up.  Should tap into more velocity as the body matures physically.  Mixed in a slurvy breaking ball at 73-77, landing it for strikes and as well as getting swing-and-miss. Best outing of the day on on the bump on the Rangers side.  Currently uncommitted.
