Dominic Smaldino (2023 RHP, Novato, CA) had himself a day, pitched well threw 3 innings, struck out 5 batters and only gave up two hits. His fastball sat 83 mph topping out at 85 creating a lot of swing and misses. He also swung the bat well, smashed a double that one hoped the left field fence to score a run. Ended the day 2-for-4.

Anthony Aceves (2024, Lake Elsinore, CA) smashed a triple to right center. Aceves continues to square the ball up and hit it hard on a line. He has a short compact swing with plus bat speed. Ended the day 2-for4 with an RBI. Got on the mound and threw well, struck out 2 baters and only gave up 1 it. He threw strikes and attacked the batters early.

Vinny Neilson (2022, SS, Simi Valley, CA) has a violent compact swing that consistently squares the ball up. He has great pitch selection and hits the ball hard. Made some great plays at short stop, showed a reliable glove with the ability to make the routine plays. Also got on the mound and threw a lot of strikes, flashed a nice 12/6 curve ball with tight spin.

Jackson Alex (2025, OF, Los Angeles, CA) hit the ball well today, he went 2-for-3 with a triple to left center. He crushed the ball to deep left center on a line. Alex runs well, his speed allows him to cover a lot of ground in the outfield. He made some good plays and tracked down balls deep in the gap.

Kollin Losee (2022, SS, Las Vegas, NV) swung the bat well, he went 1-for-3 but consistently squared the ball up. He has a quick level swing that stays long through the zone. He smashed a line drive to left center. Also showed a reliable glove with the ability to make the routine plays.

Ryan Maturo (2023, RHP, Fullerton, CA) pitched well, threw 4 solid innings. He struck out 7 batters and only allowed 3 hits. Maturo’s fastball sat 78 mph topping out at 8o mph, he threw strikes and attacked the hitters creating a lot of swing and misses.

Cristian Brewster (2023, IF, Porter Ranch, CA) smashed a triple over the center fielder’s head. He has a violent compact swing with plus bat speed. Brewster also runs well, zoomed around the bases never breaking stride. Also showed a reliable glove with the ability to make routine plays.

Malakai Lopez (2024, UT, Cathedral City, CA) showed up today, went 3-for-3. Lopez has a short compact swing with good bat speed. He also runs well and is aggressive on the bases. Showed his athleticism in the outfield, slipped on the wet grass got up and still made the play on a shallow ball in center field.

Mathew Kuromoto (2023, 3B, Irvine, CA) came ready to swing it went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple. Hit the ball well to all fields, everything was hit hard and on a line. Also played some great defense, showed off his athleticism had great range with a quick transition and accurate throws.

Christian Hong (2023, OF, Yorba Linda, CA) showed off his athleticism in the outfield. He had great first step and covered a lot of ground. Saved his teams some runs and tracked down some ball hit deep.

Paxton Ponder (2022, SS, Frisco, TX) smashed a double in the gap. He has a quick level swing that stays long through the zone. Also made some great plays on defense.

Sean Smith (2024, McKinney, TX) led things off with a bang for the Royal team. He turned on a pitch on the inner half and ripped it down the leftfield line for a double. He also showed some speed and baserunning aptitude, stealing third the next batter.

John Clinkenbeard (2024, Ben Lomond, CA) was an offensive standout during the morning slate. In the top of the fourth, he showed his bat-to-ball skills, driving a breaking ball down the leftfield line to knock in a run.

Matthew Castillo (2024, San Jose, CA) was excellent on the mound for Royal. The right hander finished his line with two scoreless innings while punching out four.

Chance Kuhlmann (2023, Ewa Beach, HI) continued to barrel balls at the plate and show off barrel skills. The Hawaii native singled to right during the bottom of the sixth after showing off some power upside yesterday in game.

Kian Barker (2023, OF, San Diego, CA) went 2-for-4 today with a triple. He runs well, has good speed and was aggressive on the bases. Barker has a violent compact swing with good bat speed. He also made come great plays in the outfield and covered a lot of ground.

Jayce Fine (2023, C, Valencia, CA) swung the bat well today, he went 2-for-4 with a double to left center. Fine consistently squared the ball up and hit it hard on a line. He has a short compact swing with plus bat speed. His defense behind the dish was solid.

Joe Brewer (2023, 3B, Hermosa Beach, CA) showed off his athleticism and made a sweet play deep down the third base line. He displayed soft hands with good footwork and a quick transition. Brewer has a strong arm and made accurate throws all game.

Paxton Ponder (2022, SS, Frisco, TX) lead his team in hits today, he went 2-for-3. Ponder had great pitch selection allowing him to consistently square the ball up. Also showed a reliable glove in the infield with the ability to make the routine plays.

Seth Barden- 2022 (Las Vegas, NV) came ready to swing it today going 2 for 2 with a hard liner left.  Showed the ability to consistently find a barrel. Seth also threw two innings on the mound today. In his two innings of work Seth tallied three strikeouts. Seth sat 82-83 with good run on his fastball.  He has a very fluid and repeatable motion. 

Adrian Vento- 2022 (Menifee, CA) put on a show for us today with two hard hits including an RBI double.  For his double Adrian showed poise at the plate having an 8 pitch at bat.  

Ivan Ayala- 2023 (San Diego, CA) Ivan stayed with a pitch on the outer half and drove it to right center for a triple. Ivan has a short compact swing and finds the barrel often. 

Ryan Weller- 2023 (Phoenix, AZ) Ryan was filling the zone up all day.  In his two innings of work Ryan tallied two strikeouts and allowed one hit.  He sat 81-82 with a plus curveball at 69-70.  Ryan was able to throw both pitches for strikes. He also has a very projectable frame with room to grow.
