Ryan McCurry (2018 OF, Solon, OH) came all the way from Ohio for this showcase and was impressive in the box. He has impressive bat speed and is an aggressive hitter who really drove the ball hard all round. He gets the ball in the air and has power potential as well as raw bat speed.
Jamey Richey (2018 3B, Lindale, TX) has a long and very projetable
6-4/175 build and a loose swing with good extension through contact and
plenty of leverage as well. A right handed hitter, he showed his best
contact and good lift to right centerfield.
Bryce Yosko (2019 SS, Spring, TX) has a good shift to his front side and
a short swing that uses his quick hands well. He barreled up the ball
consistently with hard line drive contact to the pull side and should
continue to fill out his 6-1/171 frame and get stronger.
Justin Taylor (2018 C, Austin, TX) is a strong right handed hitting
catcher who swings hard and creates plenty of bat speed. He hits from a
crouched stance and works up through the ball with some lift and carry
off the barrel.
Trevor Davis (2018 1B, Mesquite, TX) was one of the strongest players at
the showcase with a rock solid 6-4/220 build and created lots of row
bat speed. He tended to over swing during his round but his swing
fundamentals were good and his bat speed and potential were
unmistakable.
Parker Alford (2019 OF, Austin, TX) is a switch hitter who looked
especially solid from the left side. He has a simple and repeatable
swing and made solid mid field to pull side contact, with good bat
speed that is going to keep getting better as he fills out his wiry
frame.
Andrew Garcia (2021 3B, Corpus Christi, TX) has very good strength for a
2021, with a rock in shift into contact and a loose and strong swing
that produced lots of mid field line drive contact. It's impressive how
he gets his whole body into his swing with good rhythm and flow.
Jared Tipton (2018 3B, Mesquite, TX) has a big and strong 6-0/200 build
and a pull and lift approach at the plate, with quick hands to start his
swing. He gets the ball in the air consistently and gets lots of jump
off the barrel when he squares it up.
Cole Kracmer (2020 1B, Grand Prairie, TX) has a very projectable 6-2/170
build and a loose and smooth left handed swing. He handles the barrel
very well and hit hard line drives with carry from gap to gap. He has a
chance to really develop with time and additional strength.
Aiden
Mendolia (2020 SS, Fort Worth, TX) has very good natural hitter's
timing and rhythm and squared up almost every pitch hard, with pull to
mid field line drive contact.
Aaron Tesei (2020 OF, Waxahachie, TX) has very quick hands at the plate and makes solid line drive pull contact. He has an athletic and projectable body and should continue to improve as he gets stronger.
Kevin Mial (2018 OF, Killeen, TX) has a hands driven swing and is another hitter with the quickness in his hands to get the barrel into the zone on time and drive the ball with good bat speed.
Julian Rojas (2018 C, Humble, TX) stood out in catching drills defensively and it looks like he can swing the bat with authority as well. The big right handed hitter drives the ball with authority and lots of power potential.
Tyler Lee (2021 3B, Texarkana, TX) has a very impressive 6-2/180 build for his age and also impressive bat speed. His approach might be a little long and uphill at present but there is lots of time to make adjustments and the tools are there.
Wallace (Tre`) Jones III (2018 OF, Houston, TX) is a left handed hitter with quick hands and an aggressive pull oriented swing. The ball jumps off his bat and he was very consistent in his timing and swing path.
Benjamin Hegedus (2018 SS, Katy, TX) is an aggressive left handed hitter who swings hard with the intent to drive the ball hard. He showed good bat speed and hard mid field to pull side line drive contact.
Joshua Fernandez (2018 OF, Hondo, TX) drilled a first pitch home run, which is always an attention getter in any BP session and showed a strong left handed swing from a simple set of mechanics the entire round.
Bryce Grizzaffi (2019 C, Morgan City, LA) has a short and very repeatable right handed swing that produced very consistent hard line drives without being very complicated about it. He looks like a high average hitter.
Kyle Reece (2019 SS, Cypress, TX) has a long and loose right handed swing that has plenty of bat speed and lift, especially when he gets his front foot down on time.
Eddie Molina (2021 2B, Corpus Christi, TX) is only 5-7/135 and very young but he had one of the nicest swings we saw all day and squared everything up with surprising bat speed and authority.
Kendall Tolbert (2018 3B, Houston, TX) is an immensely strong 6-3/235 athlete with a long and very loose right handed swing and huge right handed power to the middle of the field. He will continue to improve as he learns to trust his strength and control and shorten his swing.
Hunter Teplansky (2021 SS, Temple, TX) is a switch-hitter with very impressive bat speed for his age and slender 6-2/150 build, especially from the left side. It will be fun to watch him develop over the next four years.
John Tyler Mounce (2019 OF, Cypress, TX) has very fast hands from the left side, quick enough that one of his challenges is to wait for the ball to get deeper in the zone and to trust his hands.
Luke Nagy (2019 C, Cypress, TX) has a long and projectable 6-2/180 build and nice right handed bat speed and occasional power and lift to the middle of the field.
