Justin Barnes is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein Oak HS. Recorded a 7.25 60-yard dash. Medium frame with wiry strength and room to add more to the frame. Primary pitcher who threw from a long and loose arm action. Worked exclusively out of the stretch with a leg lift above the belt. Delivered from a lower three-quarter arm slot and had deception overall. Fastball topped out at 89 mph and showed heavy life low in the zone. Occasionally brought the slot back up and maintained velocity throughout the performance. Mixed in a short slider. Very good arm strength from the outfield; up to 94 mph. Throws get god carry and was very accurate to the bag. High hand set with some bat speed at the plate. Consistent loud contact and flashed barrel control. Solid overall tools and a prospect to be monitored closely. Named to the 2017 Sunshine South Showcase Top Prospect List. Great student.
