2022 WWBA Summer Workout Showcase (July 19)
Reid Johnson is a 2026 C/3B, IF, OF, UT with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Mooresville, NC who attends South Iredell. Ran a 7.21 second sixty. Primary catcher with a medium frame showing some physicality to the build. Sits deep in the crouch receiving the ball away from the body as he gets out of the crouch well with a quicker release and some arm strength that will only increase with maturity making accurate throws on a 1.97 second pop time. Works quicker to the ball doing a nice job of carrying the momentum into the throws with average arm strength from a short arm action. Showed younger actions on the infield with firm hands. Did a nice job going left with an ability to change the arm slot and maintain accuracy across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts with an even base and lower hand set using a leg lift trigger. Stays short with the swing path impacting the baseball best when he gets to extension out front with good intent hitting baseballs hard to the middle of the field and pull side.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
