Carter Macanas is a 2026 SS/2B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Mesa, AZ who attends Red Mountain. Medium, lean frame with room to continue adding strength. Primary shortstop, moves around the dirt really well with obvious athleticism, gets the glove down early and works out front with clean funnels, works through the baseball well and takes quality angles. Has arm strength across and gets it out quickly with accuracy and has the ability to throw from all arm angles, recorded throws up to 85 mph. Right-handed hitter, medium base with high hands and back elbow in the stance, short stride out into contact, keeps the hands inside the baseball with a short path to contact. All fields approach with prototypical top of the order look, will continue to grow into power as he continues to add strength onto the frame. Tremendous student. Verbal commitment to Arizona State.
