2022 13U/14U Spring Southwest Showcase
Gavin Loeb Keene is a 2026 RHP/SS, OF with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Ontario, CA who attends Los Osos. In the outfield, he showed ability to charge the ball hard and make clean accurate throws. In the infield, the defensive actions weren’t as sound but showed decent lateral movement. Swinging the bat, the approach is very simple, looking to go the other way constantly. He drives the knob well and will have more impact as he matures. On the mound, he delivers out of a high 3/4 armslot with minimal effort and a slightly unorthodox arm action. He gets good direction to the plate however could use his lower half in a more efficient fashion. His success came from living on the outer third of a plate with a fastball that sat between 66 and 72 mph then pairing that with a straight change at 63 mph that forced some off-balance swings from opposing hitters. we saw one curveball at 55 mph but seem to need some development.
