2022 Deep South Prospect Showcase
Elijah Rankin is a 2025 3B/ with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Mendenhall, MS who attends Puckett. He ran a 7.03 Sixty Yard Dash. Rankin has a Medium frame with a slender athletic build. Primary outfielder on defense waits back on the ball with clean footwork and smooth actions, straight over the top arm action with developing arm strength, he makes accurate one hop throws to bases. On then mound he showed a slow chest high leg lift with a very easy effortless operation. He creates plenty of momentum down the slope as he stays in line with the delivery. There was some speed in the shoulder as the low 80s fastball had occasional jump out of the hand. Rankin mixed in a tight 12-6 breaking ball that looked to still be in development. Right handed hitter has a wide open foot base with a toe tap trigger. He showed quick hands and an even bat path with a pull side approach. Elijah was name to the 2022 Deep South Prospect Showcase Top Team List.
