2025 PG High School All State Select Championship (26-27 Grads)
Steven Mims is a 2026 LHP/1B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Magnolia, TX who attends Home School. Sturdy and strong medium build. Works from a full wind up with a coiled leg lift over the rubber and good lower half drive down the mound, 3/4's arm slot, creates some angle with his pitches and repeats his mechanics and release well. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, has been up to 85 mph often in the past at PG events, gets outstanding run and sink on his fastball and throws it to spots on both sides of the plate. Change up was a very good pitch, mixed it up with his fastball and added and subtracted velocity with mature feel. Also flashed a short breaking slider that can be further developed but wasn't really needed this outing. Very effective performance.
