2025 PG High School All State Select Championship (26-27 Grads)
Sean Gaine is a 2027 3B/RHP/SS with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from St.James, NY who attends Smithtown East. Tall athletic build with some lean strength and room for more. 7.40 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, moves to the ball well and gains ground into his throws, clean actions to the back hand, longer arm stroke with some carry on his throws, made all the plays. Right handed hitter, sets up with a high hand load and high leg raise timer, can simplify his set up for more consistency, has strength in his swing when he's on time with gap to gap contact and some impact/carry, projectable hitting tools. Took a turn on the mound, works from an abbreviated delivery with a small side step into a high leg raise with good lower half drive down the mound, compact arm action to a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 83 mph with good downhill angle, also threw some upper 70's fastballs with two-seam tailing life. Still developing consistency on his breaking ball release but flashed good spin and some depth at times. Good student.
