Ethan Trahan is a 2026 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ. Medium, athletic frame with broadness to shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.77 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, begins with a higher leg lift up past belt with gather on backside, nice tempo and deliberate pace to delivery; online stride coming down the mound, quickness to arm while working to a three-quarters release point, creates nice angle at release out of the hand. Low effort, fastball topped out at 79 mph in this look with short life, comfort to work to glove side consistently. Turned over changeup with conviction at 71 mph and sells it well with short fading life, advanced feel for the pitch. Short depth on the curveball with 1-7 shape up to 64 mph, mixes with comfort and fills up the strike zone. Fluid actions at first base, athleticism plays and moves well to the ball, receives it with soft hands, arm strength with nice accuracy across diamond; moves well in the outfield as well, attacks the ball and stays low to the ball while working through it. Left-handed hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger at the plate. Quick and loose hands with strength to them, works on a linear plane and repeats it well, controls the barrel well through the zone and showed ability to adjusted to off speed in live action. Smooth stroke and remains balanced while creating some torque, shows jump to pull side off of the barrel. Selected to the 2021 13u PG Select Festival.
