2024 Sunshine Atlantic Coast Showcase
Carter Thomasson is a 2026 C/RHP/3B with a 5-10 210 lb. frame from Halifax, VA who attends Halifax County. Big and strong build, catcher's look. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread and balanced stance, simple load and shift, could get into his strong lower half more, very direct to the ball with good extension through contact, creates back spin and has power, showed the ability to hit the ball to all fields in the game, next level offensive tools. 7.85 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has some one spot quickness and comes out of his crouch well, solid arm strength and makes on line accurate throws. Also worked out in the infield but is much better behind the plate. Took a turn on the mound, works from a full wind up, longer arm action, big upper body tilt, over the top arm slot, unusual mechanics for a primary catcher. Fastball topped out at 84 mph and was mostly straight, thrown for strikes. Curveball was his pitch, big spin rates with big shape and bite, threw his curveball for strikes and got lots of bad swings on the pitch. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
