Jake Clayton is a 2027 SS/RHP/MIF/OF with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Pt. Pleasant, NJ who attends Point Pleasant Borough. Clayton works from a medium athletic build with strength present throughout. As a primary SS, he showcased a deep fielding funnel with clean actions and flashes of lateral range to get to spots and make plays asked of him. He topped out at 79 mph across the diamond from a lower slot that remained the same throughout the round. From the OF, Clayton again displayed some developing arm strength up to 82 mph, working through the ball well with a compact arm stroke. Offensively, the righty started from an even balanced base with a tight hand set and simple leg lift trigger that generated loud impact gap to gap at times. The stroke was loose and easy with evident strength in the hands, posting an exit velo of 88 mph. Good student. Named to Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
