Jonell Rodriguez is a 2027 2B/SS/OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Oakridge. Primary 2B with a lean and athletic frame. Moves well to the ball with a quick first step. Light on his feet and fluid mover. Uses a 2 hand gather and funnel to chest. Looked good going to his backhand fielding everything cleanly. Fluid actions in general from a strong arm with accurate throws. Was up to 84 from across the diamond and showed good actions in game as well. Also played outfield getting up to 83 from there. Moves well to the ball and gets through it from a quick release. Low liner accurate throws. Also ran a 6.66 sixty. Left-handed hitter who uses a short knee lift trigger for timing and rhythm. Showed good bat speed with a quick set of hands and bat to ball stood out. Can spray it all over the field and uses the entire field well with his approach. Good ability to stay on plane and get the barrel to the ball. Controlled swing with bat to ball present. Good Student. Named to the South High School All State Games TP List.
