Mason Jones is a 2026 RHP/3B/OF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Wilmington, NC who attends Emsley A Laney. Long, lean frame with a lot of projection and a lot of time to add physicality . Primary position RHP, works from the 3B side of the rubber using a small side step to quick leg lift just above the belt. Sets hands just below the chest and away from the body leading to a shorter inline path and accelerating through a 3/4 arm angle. Quick transition down the mound, getting into his legs and creating good arm speed from his torso. Showed FB up to 80 mph with above average spin in the 2,100+ rpm range and some ride through the zone. Very nice SL in the upper-60's with good spin and tight two-plane shape and solid CH with tumbling action in the mid-60's decelerating bat heads. Moves the ball around the zone, doubles up on off speed when necessary, has an idea what pitching is. Secondary IF, with deliberate actions and clean transfer. Moves athletically, making plays with ease and snapped off throws up to 80 mph across diamond. RHH working from wide and balanced stance and turned in front side. Negative stride to get started as he loads into backside and tilts barrel to get hands started. Does get stuck on backside a bit and runs himself out of barrel. Oppo approach with plenty of time to grow feel for bat head and hit tool will make jump. Outstanding student with real two-way potential.

Right Handed Hitting
Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
