Michael Doherty is a 2027 LHP/OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Brookline, MA who attends Phillips Academy. Medium athletic build with the beginnings of some present strength. Sinks into his backside well in his pitching mechanics and drives down the mound well, high energy release from a high 3/4's arm slot, athletic delivery that he repeats well. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with more velocity there as he matures physically, has made a nice velocity jump in the last year already, has good arm side running life but can also bring it hard inside to right handed hitters, threw his fastball for strikes and worked off it well. Hard slider is a good pitch with tight sweeping action, can back foot right handed hitters with it. Threw strikes with both pitches and hand a dominant outing. 7.29 runner in the sixty. Played outfield when not on the mound, threw from a lower arm slot than on the mound and made strong and accurate throws, still developing his footwork through the ball. Left handed hitter, starts from an upright slightly open stance with some drift to his front side, has a loose swing with the start of some bat speed. Excellent student.
