Josh Barnes is a 2025 C/RHP/1B with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Leesburg, GA who attends Lee County. Tall and physical build with present strength to the frame. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Switch hitter, similar setup from both sides, medium base with high hands in the stance, has more loft to the path in the left-handed swing, ball comes off the barrel easy to the middle of the field, has a downhill path in the right-handed swing and creates backspin to the opposite field. Found barrels in both swings. Primary catcher, high staggered feet setup, natural receiver, quick exchange, compact arm action to a high three-quarters slot. Solid arm strength with accuracy around the bag, recorded throws up to 74 mph and a pop-time of 1.95. Secondary first baseman, bounces off the bag well with fundamental footwork around the bag, two hand funnel out front, turns glove side on throws, accuracy around the bag, solid arm strength. Recorded throws up to 81 mph. Excellent student.
