Charlie Shapiro is a 2026 2B/RHP, SS with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Great Neck, NY who attends Great Neck North. Medium frame with young, lean frame but plenty of time to add size in strength in the coming years. Primary position IF, moving well on his feet and showing good first step quickness. Plays higher in his legs and tends to get the glove down a bit late. Glove work is on point and showed mature action especially to the backhand side. Quick release and quick arm action producing solid throw up to 74 mph across the diamond. Secondary RHP, working from the windup and reaching good posture over the rubber. Simple repeatable delivery as he accelerates through a 3/4 arm angle. Filling up the zone with his two-pitch mix and should see a jump in velo as he gains strength and gets down the mound more aggressively. FB up to 75 mph and CB with some depth in the upper-60s. RHH working from an even base and flatter hand position a bit tight to his body. Gets off his backside and has an idea with the bat head. Mechanically sound, just needs to continue to add strength and the power will be there with his line drive stroke. Good overall athlete who performs well in the classroom as well.
